Joe Ligon used to live in Beaumont, Texas a few houses down from friends of ours. I used to always see him outside washing his car, etc;. Back then I didn't even know who he was. I knew the Mighty Clouds of Joy but never the members. When I got older I ran into him at a small church where he was producing a small female group. It blew my mind when I saw him, I was like, "I used to see this guy almost everyday when I was kid and never knew I was in the presence of a legend!!!

I love the Clouds...I was surprised to hear that Joe Ligon had triple bypass surgery but God gave him the strength to appear on Shirley Caesar`s new album that just hit the stores a few days ago..I purchased the cd and Joe is sounding great as he collaborates with Shirley..He is in my prayers for continued strength !
