Violent movies have been around for decades, but only a decade or so after FPS like Doom came out do we see school shootings. I find it a little messed up that so many people find games like GTA entertaining when the sole mission is to rampage and slaughter mercilessly throughout each level. If you can solve these missions and still be nonviolent then I applaud you, but I admit I'm a little worried and afraid to see millions of people purchasing these games when owning a gun is so easy.
Doom came out in 1993. you say school shootings didnt start till a decade after doom...2003? I'll tell you what, between 1966 and 1993 (nearly 30 years before doom was released) there were approximately 22 school shootings in the United States.

video games are Rated in several different ratings (for ex, E, T, M, AO, RP,)
As long as stores (in my oppinion) Only sell games to people who are old enough to buy these games (M=17 years old, T=13)

To L1Games, I have recently came upon your youtube channel, and I humbly appreciate the effort with your videos. As an avid gamer myself, I do truly believe the problem lies with irresponsible parenting and not the game as a whole. After all, it's against the law to buy games for minors. Hence the guardians broke the law. To add another note, if he was to continue, this effort he states to change violates the right to freedom of speech.

After the ban on guns in video games, he would more then likely go for banning fighting in video games, thus destroying the franchises such as street fighter, Tekken ect. After that, other games would fallow, such as Mario (claiming that instead of it being imaginative and child like, it supports dangerous drugs) then, going with his ego, he would probably petition that we bar off all other forms of entertainment from other countries. making us an isolated country again (1920s-1930s).

Why are you dropping to Jack Thompson's level and proving Godwin's Law... ? Anyway that aside. Looking at the "scientific evidence" of linking violent games and real life violence I think has been best put by a Mr Kierkegaard.
That such evidence is flimsy and biased towards proving a link, he also cites as you do, the decline of violence over the same duration. Other sites I have seen actually show that violence drops almost around the same time(1993) that doom came out and has been in (cont)

Unfortunately correlation doesn't equal causation and I suspect many institutions don't want to investigate if fundamentally, violent games could reduce violent behavior for a number of reasons, none of those reasons being scientific however. Mr Kierkegaard however does work for the University of Essex, so who knows, maybe they will investigate it properly.
I suspect we will find a link of REDUCED violence myself.

Agreeing with that one guy down there Dubbed2death i think, anyway, taaking away a possible stress reliving game will causea massive increase in violence. Games such as Halo or MW2 give gamers and teenagers a sense of self esteem if u are not so proficient in a real-life skill or activity. Actually, what I mean to imply is that Jack is the one using Religion to support his goals. I only draw parallels to violence in religion in an attempt to show that it exists outside of video games and in greater quantity.

It wont happen, the military has adopted using "video games" as cheaper training tools. and in the long run video games help the military because if new recruits have played video games then they can pick up that type of training more easily and effectivly.
