@TiramisuHappy I honestly don't hear the difference. Make a video response pronouncing it correctly and maybe I can then tell how I'm saying it wrong.
Tomorrow, when you go to your university to teach, ask one of your coworkers/students to say it right in front of your face. Ask a janitor at your school, your next-door neighbor, flag down a cab driver and ask him to say it for you! ANYBODY!!! The difference is night and day! You can read my kanji and hiragana, right? Try to say it as you see it.
When you say "Doh-Yo" in Japanese, it means "Saturday."
@Techne Tiramisu is a long time watcher of my channels, so I cut him\her some slack, but if that one little thing means you won't watch my vids anymore, than I will try to correct it.
Hahaha, sorry if I came off sounding like an ass! But that's just how I talk/write. It was half in jest!! ; )
But for someone who's SUCH an aficionado of the sport as you, that "one little thing" was hurting your image a bit (at least to me who is Japanese.) It's been rather annoying to have to listen to you say "doh-yo" time and time again!
All right, discussion over. Let's get back to SUMO!!! : )
@Tiramisuhappy
This little thing does not hurt Jason's image at all! So cut it off!
Remember ,you are not dealing with a Japanese.

This is my LAST try to correct you on this.
It's "do-hyo" (土俵, どひょう) and NOT "doh-yo"!!
You just don't listen to me!!! : (
If I hear you say it "doh-yo" one more time, I'm UNSUBSCRIBING dammit! ; P
Tough start for 日馬富士 this tournament. I hope he can just shake it off and get back into the swing of things.

@JasonsinJapan not sure what the difference is either, but i would assume you pronounce it more like 'Doyo' while its 'Dohio' (as if Doheeoh)
