Sarah Palin did NOT win the debate - far from it. She gave pat answers that said basically nothing. Biden corrected her factually numerous times, and was clearly acting from experience, not from a set of talking points crammed into his head over the last week. Case in point is when she screwed up her answer re main street v. wall street.

I lived in Illinois for a long time. I know that the current governor is useless, but would you rather have Gov. Ryan back? I worked in governmental positions there, and I can tell you that the Republican administrations were VERY corrupt! Obama, while not being the ideal individual that we need as out next president, is at the very least, not a continuance of what we've had for the last 8 years. Who cares what she spent it on? She talks about being a fiscal conservative but she spends millions of dollars and still ends up in debt. My town doesn't have that kind of debt and we don't get millions of dollars of earmarks to spend on top of tax dollars. Self reliance does not fill my tank. The US sits on 3% of the total oil in the world. We also consume 25% of the oil. Where is the difference going to come from? I thought the idea was to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Well she said that we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. HOW? WITH WHAT? Especially when the current republican has done nothing to further the idea of alternative energy.

Between Alaska, off shore, oil shale, tar sands, there are trillions on barrels available. Plenty to hold us over without sending money to the mid-east until alternatives are developed. I didn't hear any democrats saying anything about it until just recently either. See, they like cheap oil too.

I say, to run a business you need good judgment, people skills, sales skills, finance skills, negotiation skills, vision, and to know when to step on a neck, and when to offer a hand.
Sounds like the same skills as running a nation. Barack is missing a lot of those.
