my great grandmother and great grandfather was also full blooded chickasaw on my mother side of the family. My father has cherokee on his side. my daughter is and grandson are registered chippawa, because I was married to someone who is a chippawa.
Those are southeastern tribes. They share similar cultures. They traded and even danced together. So it would be no surprise that they would have similar music and traditions.
Funny how the Chickasaw's culture looks and sounds alot like the Seminole/Creek/Muscogee languages and dance. I think they "borrowed" a little of this and that from other tribes, i think it's funny how the Chickasaw's only stompgrounds was at Kullahoma for a long ass time...........Just sayin'....
this sounds like my family and I's tribe, the mississippi band of choctaw indians, dance called the drunk dance. hehe, chickasaws drink water... choctaws get drunk. lol.
Estonko it's good to see the Chickasaw dancing, American Indian culture is so diverse and the dances go back a long way,it's great to see they live on,vnvhe Osceola.
One of my favorite stories when Spain occupied the US enroute back home they demanded of the Chickasaw 8 woman for each sailor to comfort them on the way back to Spain. The Chicksaw said they will think about it, and instead the next day they slaughtered the Spanish invaders. Our motto is the unconquered and unconquerable. go to Chickasaw(dot)net for more info.
Kullihoma is my home grounds, I grew up there since I was a little boy and ran all over the country, My Grandmother is in one of many elders of te Chickasaw Nation who preserves the Chickasaw Heritage, Chukmashki!!! It is not a preserve but a reservation by law, there is no meaning of what a reservation is and in our culture that is where we have ceremonial dances and many other activities. Just a little info about what it is and located.

the stillness of the uncovering hippie is poetry in motion
my religion is relaxation and your face is like
a chapel of cozy nature changing in the prismatic lights of the devas
who dance in the grateful dead songs like mandalas of buddha bongs long ago
i see the naked world, the schools teach us to ignore
maybealover 1 month ago
comes flooding back, in this kensho, each time i sit in meditation
the heavens ring through the planet and you are there
our words are the soft jangling of our hearts in the clouds, meaning nothing
denying everything, only truth is left
maybealover 1 month ago
i kiss you like i kiss the moon, your buddha breasts
shine like small mushrooms, in the riff-laden field
of our buzzing nirvana, truth sprouts there
yet i am content just to be near, and not to reap
for we are one,
maybealover 1 month ago
Dana, in you is the teaching of truth, so long hidden
this insane world, we take to our van, we travel
we sing, come together hand in hand, occupying the tiny spaces
between fractals where the spirit stream
smoothes our edges,
deer spirit, here the cannabis rises, i am simply, i am humble
maybealover 1 month ago
i am a hedon, your shapes are like the galaxies, we mooch through life
we trickle like rain
with 7 sheets of good acid, i cannot explain any more
glorious mornings watching the hole thing fritter away
and ressurect, what is the universe, some crazy rainbow dragon
maybealover 1 month ago
of samsara, yet when i say its all suffering, somehow i'm happiest
i don't have to give in to it, it makes my doing equal
i reconcile this with our love, when I lick your cheeks,
our brigade of pot, astronaut, goddess of acid
acid rock, the grass grows on the acid rock
maybealover 1 month ago
this dance with the universe, every spirit we meet, we love
psychically our minds meet in the realm of shrooms, the technology of the ancients
who planted natural shrines within the psyche opens up
the dryads speak, the civilization that is nature
maybealover 1 month ago
we realize the buildings are just plant cells
and we are rebels and rogues on the outskirts
doing things nobody knows
i am a gypsy and it is my heart
i love all beings
maybealover 1 month ago
my poetry is my art i leave in sharpies haikus and little flowers
wherever i go, our songs awaken, and the moon blessed us
this is true life, we are the nomads
we are the ancient tribes revived, in this age of psychedelics
in this age where everything is a dream
maybealover 1 month ago
we fall into the chaos of primordial self
i never knew someone could be this close
i true friend, though the world ignores you
i feel you within, this voice this truth
points the way to silence
the end of violence
these are the dances of the stars
maybealover 1 month ago
for a moment we are like the giants, watching the ants
make fractals on the sidewalk, life blows in the wind
in so many ways
i love everything til the end of my days
acid is the name of the universe where i find peace
we are infinity, no north south west or east
maybealover 1 month ago
the society ignores me more and more, so i know my wisdom must be deep
still there are friends in whats unsaid, and time to time the tao still leaks
and we steal away to the creek
there we drink the water and everything is healed
in a morning reverie, true hippieness is revealed
maybealover 1 month ago
all the bad trip left us, now its just love we feel
in this endless plane, is it wanti, is it heaven is it real?
just an orange peel carnation on the horizon of nature's bosoms
there again i am in the clouds this yoga, make you like the universe
maybealover 1 month ago
trippy yoga, we are not the past, we live in the now
our life is the entire universe, Spirit speaks all around, everything is whole
everything is good, we live for ecstasy and it blossoms our souls,
and we sink into the wood

You don't f*** with the Chickasaw. We gave Hernando DeSoto a serious sensitivity lesson in 1541. Sent him running back down the Mississippi.
