This debate is basically what we thought in third grade just with more pseudo-intelligence. I mean I haven't finished it and in all honesty the comments sound more intelligent than these people are. The bottom line is that men are not finished by a long-shot due to the fact that women still need men just as men need women.

The breakdown of family system made men to not work hard bcos they only have to feed themselves.. On the other hand it made women to work hard out of fear that there wont be a man to take her responsibility. Moreover, Men prefer to live life happily with limited means unlike few decades ago when their only aim is to earn lots of money.. But this trend will also catch up with women soon..

@karlsmith00 I run a 70 acre farm in Niagara and work over 2000 hours a year so LOL at your job comment. I really didn't think the debate was up to Intelligence Squared standards. Perhaps asking if Masculinity is finished would have been a more intruiging question and the debaters didn't do a great job, David Zinczenko was very weak on the Against the motion side, and Hanna Rosin was clearly using it as a platform for some good old fashioned male bashing on the For the motion side.

@karlsmith00 2000 hours a year is a heck of a lot more than the average worker, in Canada the average Canadian works only 1700 hours a year, in the United States it's slightly higher at 1750. As for the results can we really conclude that men are certainly finished because of the votes of an incredibly small and demographically narrow audience in a debate where the "against the motion side" admittedly defended their arguments poorly.

First i want to state that i have watched all of past Intelligence Squared US debates and i am deeply grateful to have done this.
My reaction, this is one of the poorest if not the most vain debates i have ever watched in this series, for the following reasons:1- though i appreciate the sense of humor that was present, i was looking for more logical, Factual arguments rather than what seemed as mere preferences or poorly supported personal opinions. to be continued

To the woman at 1:29. Men don't want to get married because the laws these days declare that a woman can leave her husband for any reason, and take the kids, house, and half your income for life! Moreover, one used to have to get married to have sex, but nowadays there are plenty of sluts to satisfy us, and married women often become frigid. Change the marrige laws, and start having more sex with your husband. Also, men don't like fat chicks, but women often grow quit large after marriage!
