Crazily enough I was able to answer all of these questions; and my geographical skills are not that great but even I knew that was Australia he was pointing to (the island in the lower right corner of the map). Not all people are going to be well versed in politics and history; I just happen to spend an inordinate time on the internet, reading up on this stuff (and I really am not that bright in many regards).

Finally 'all americans' as european immigrants is incorrectly used, as yes the original colonials were from europe but the immigration thats made todays population happened throughout the 20th century (check out Ellis island documentaries for more info) so you cant really state that them all being immigrants makes them a no different to others as the colonials settled and created they're own culture and nation (of course the fact they were colonials is much overlooked by americans).

Most of Southeast Asiawas under imperial control of countries that US was allied with. The sanctions and protective action against them did anger Japan but don't make Japan to have been acting only out of retaliation.

There was an American dude who actually asked me "do u know where USA is?" when i was visiting USA. Dude what kind of question was that?
