@delatroy If you can get organic that is better for you and the planet, if not, do your best. Better to eat fruits and vegges than processed foods or animal foods.
@frankferendo Yes absolutely. I just came back from the shop just now. I'm actually living in China now and they have many different fruits and vegies! In the organic shop they have strange looking shrink wrapped mushrooms, fungus, really weird looking plants, seaweed - would these be good to throw in also into my smoothie?
Many thanks for your video and would be interested to see more quick recipes!
@delatroy Well, just experiment. I'm living in Vietnam right now and I make smoothies with mangoes, pineapple, and oranges. Love it. Then I make a salad for lunch and munch on veggies.
I'm been eating raw foods for the past week. Its good fun! I'm just a bit worried that I'm not getting a total balance. Like now all I'm eating is fruit smoothies for breakfast and soups for lunch and dinner. Is this enough? Where's my protein and carbs? Are there enough carbs in fruit and veg? What specific fruits and veg can I blend for proteins specifically? I saw spirulina mentioned before but I can't find this in my local shops.
@thatstheguy07 Why? We Americans already get way too much protein. Ever hear of anyone with protein deficiency? The meat and dairy industries want you to think you need to get more. Not true.
@thatstheguy07 If you are eating meat and cheese, and drinking milk, you are getting too much protein. A plant based diet will give you exactly what your body needs. That's not to say you can't have some meat and cheese. Think about a baby, maximum growth and mother's milk is only 10 percent protein. That's where we should be as adults, no more.
@frankferendo A baby isnt a fully grown adult tho, and doesnt require what we do. I dont eat dairy, but in any event, a growing adult should always have sufficient amounts of protein. Especially if youre into building muscle. And if youre not eating meat, then you should be supplenting with protein powder, as i dont think youre getting enough from plants.
@thatstheguy07 Protein doesn't build muscle, lifting weights does. Besides we don't make protein from protein, we make it form amino acids, and plants provide all we need. Really, check out the science on this, you'll find that we've all been brainwashed for all these years. I know many athletes who compete easily on a vegan diet.
You use a lot more fruit in yours than I do in mine. I am going to have to try your recipe. I use more veges so mine comes out more like V8 juice. I like to vary recipes. Great video
wonderful that you got on top of your health issues before anything more serious happened.
coincidentally, i gave my dad a copy of victoria boutenko's "green for life" and a vita-mix after he had a stroke - he had high blood pressure and high cholesterol for years - right now though, with the green smoothies and exercise, he's doing much better.
A little spoonful of maca, a small spoon of ground milkthistle, some ground flax and it's perfect. Mmmm. Fun video, thanks. I appreciate the health timeline, too. More, more!! :)
That's wonderful. I do two smoothies a day myself. The green smoothie in the morning and I have a superfood smoothie in the afternoon. One tastes sweet and light, the other like a milkshake.
When I started eating healthy Dec of 06 it improved my immune system alot, but just in the last year I've been doin the green smoothies & just this month tripled my intake. I will drink a full blender full of kale smoothie (3 or 4 leaves) & in the afternoon 1/2 blender (1 or 2 leaves of swiss chard or collard) & w/in two days of doin that I started really healing. My skin is silky & 20 yr old calouses are healing. This means the inside is healing too. Greens are amazing!
Why don't u just put everything in at one time?

Do the fruits need to be organic? Is 'normal' fruit and vegetables still ok to eat? What's the differences there please?

Gorillas have plenty of muscles, and I have not heard of them supplementing their greens with proteins.
So I assume that you are just repeating some old wife-tells.
I have been vegan for the last 31.5 years no protein powders.
