  • I love the posting thank you..

  • Since I don't have you....1964, I was 14, first time I went to a party with a girl...can't say more....lol...

  • Music like this is lost in time...enjoy

  • aaahh...this performance brings tears to my eyes...i've heard the original time and time again, but seeing this just makes it that much more meaningful..they've truly kept it alive, and haven't lost a thing...i'm 37 years old...i may be getting older....but this music will never fade.....

  • @hypersport7 Well i'm 67 and remember dancing with my girl friend at the Sadie Hawkins dance in 1959 in the 9th grade to this great song and BTW that girl is now my wife of over 47yrs.

  • Still love that ending; it is classic!

  • that last run she kills is DIRTY #shazbot

  • Proud beyond belief, also....pghjan

  • you spelled Pittsburgh wrong!

  • Guy reminds me of Old Snake from MGS4 :P

  • @Gibix OH MY GOSH : ) ha ha ha ha ha dude just said old snake. (you don't know where I could find some LaLiLuLeLo do you ?)

  • I have never forgotten her, we were together for a number of years....there's no good explanation as to why were aren't together even now but somehow, we drifted apart. Forget....never.

  • proud to been born and raised in Pgh., and loved the music growing up. Skyliners are great.

  • great i love this

  • GREAT SONGS!

    GREAT GROUP!

JIMMYS STILL GOT THE MAGIC IN HIS VOCAL!

  • Hard to believe time passes so fast. Great times and great memories !

  • Amazing! :D 'Nough said.

  • It don't get any better than Jimmy Beaumont.Rock on

  • Yinzers !

  • Anyone remember when The Skyliners appeared on Dick Clark's show dressed in old west outfits? What a FANTASTIC sound!

  • I am proud to call Jimmy Gallagher and Zoom my friends......

  • Jimmy Beaumont is still as handsome as ever!

  • jimmy beaumont is lovely

  • Just for the record, the people from Pittsburgh are some of the finest people I've ever met. I find them caring and with a sense of humor. Can you say that about your city? Of course not if you're from Cleveland, but then again that's another story. By the way I'm from Cincinnati...also just for the record. Now back to the video, Donna Grooms is the real talent in this group, she is a true professional in every sense of the word.

  • I love the song, but the lead singer seems like an arrogant prick.

  • What voices. Way to go Donna Groom.

  • Lead singer is a cutie. I was sorry to hear the orignal lady singer killed herself

  • @hidoll22 He's always been amazingly handsome.

  • Younger ones: Don't believe that what you see today is all there is. If you let go the era of the 60s, you will not ever realize what has slipped you by. There are thousands of songs by hundreds of groups that may be heads above what you hear today - if only you give them a chance. Then, it was about feelings - the kind you get inside. Listen, ask, and learn of those times and you will grow to heights you only now dream of. "Since I Don't Have You" is legend - it rolls with pure feeling.

  • Fine Music, Fab Singers.

  • Simply great music......

  • And before any one attacks me, know that I am a big fan of these men....

  • I love the song but not the personality. He seems like such an ass and they are not as good live.

  • I thought "pittsburg" rusted and fell into that greasy river that burns! The place is the "PITTS!"

  • @uizababoon understandable the word baboon is in your name-moron

  • @rover940 This may be true, but at least I don't have to live in your BURG! LMFWAO! Home of the last place Pirates, and rust!

  • @uizababoon can you say Steelers, Penguins, rated a great place to live. you are a baboon.

  • @TheRover940 Rated a great place to live by who, Bosnians? LOL! Can you say crime, dirt, trash, boarded up houses, no jobs, minorities? Insecure much? The Penguins are sitting at home watching the Stanley Cup finals on TV, just like you moron! LMFWAO!

  • @uizababoon The correct wording is "by whom", you illiterate pedophile. Get your cousin/wife and get out of the trailer occasionally. We had the Pirates, Power, and Three Rivers Arts Festival this weekend. What did you have in your village. Watching the Sears trucks unload again?

  • @rover940 Thanks for the English lesson Bozo! I bet your A Expert at EBONICS too, with all the African neighbors you have. Did you buy a couple Etch-A- Sketch drawings at the "Arts Festival"? I see on TV the same 16 people bored enough to attend a Pirates game. You have "Power"? We have had electricity here for well over 100 years! LOL! Did you wear A gas mask when you went outside in that poison air? Did you lock the burglar bars on your windows and doors? I think Mc Donalds is hiring!

  • I'm sure Janet Vogel (RIP) is pleased with Donna Groom.

  • Jimmy Beaumont (lead) is the only original member. Donna is fabulous. The original lead, Janet Dean Vogel tragically committed suicide in the '70s. This is the greatest doo-wop group of all time and the greatest ballad ever made. Phil Spector called "This I Swear" the greatest oldie ever made.

  • Janet passed away on Feb. 21, 1980 and you are right on the money: no group anywhere will ever beat the Skyliners today. Dd you know about the movie being filmed called "Since I Don't Have You"?This is being put together by Janet's son, Gavin. It is about Janet's life. Can't wait for the premier even though The Skyliners aren't in the movie. You ought to go to their website and by one of their jackets and t-shirts--super nice!

  • This I Swear has got to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written. And the Skyliners made it that way!!! It is one of my absolute favorites - ever!

  • How wonderful you all are!

  • Donna your voice is UNBELIEVABLE.

  • Ohhhh Donna, I fall so in love with you, every time I watch this & hear your incredible voice soar at the end. GBY for being that voice, all these years. Janet smiles on you. Wolfsky9

  • Donna Groom was not the original singer with the skyliners !

  • No lip-syncing here! Great video!!

  • I listen to this nightly ! one of the best songs EVER Recorded !!!

  • who cares if pa. is mis speeled ? moron

  • can't imagine a bad day as long as I can listen to this one.

  • These songs bring me total goosebumps!

  • they nailed it.......two, classic masterpieces.

  • Every time I wacth this, my eyes just immediately go to the gorgeous Donna Groom--beauty, class, & what a voice. Wolfsky9

  • Ohhh Jimmy, what a Masterpiece you made, so long ago. And Donna, you're the voice of an Angel. GBY, Skyliners Forever.

    Wolfsky9, 64 y/o

  • "My heart is yours, my dear....there will be no one new."

One of the best songs in music history...I've slow danced to this a million times.

    (still do....)

GREAT CHANNEL! Thanks so much for your wonderful taste in music!....Jan

  • such a wonderful time this was........

  • It's hard for a new member to replace an old member but Donna is Great!

  • I love this song!!

  • what a song this is for my only true love

  • Amazing memories of cruising and listening to this and other great doo wop songs back in the 50's.

  • It just doesn't get better than this. These songs are timeless. Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners are a class act all the way.

  • I thought Peter Weller did a decent job on this classic

  • Ohhhh Donna, you are such a total Babe, classy, gorgeous, sexy, & what a voice! I've watched this Perf. a thousand times, just to hear the music, & watch Donna. Classic! I know--I was there. Wolfsky9, 64 y/o Today.

  • Wow! What a valiant effort to sound as close as possible to the originals 40 years later. The new girl sounds great following such a tough act as Janet Vogel. LOVE IT!!!

  • @deanslist101 Janet Vogel-Rapp of "The Skyliners" died at 37 on February 21, 1980 in her garage under her home from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. It was an apparent suicide. Her high notes in "Since I Don't Have You" are priceless. Janet was such a wonderful vocalist who could do so much more that hit high notes on a fade out in a song. Check out her lead vocals on the Lp's "The Skliners" (1959), "Once Upon A Time" (1972) and "The Skyliners" (1978, not same Lp as 1959 Lp).

  • @deanslist101 Actually, Donna's been with Jimmy since '85/'86. She's from Pittsburgh also, & when she auditioned, Jimmy saw her talent & beauty , signed her up, & the rest is musical perfection. Donna is gorgeous, classy, sexy, all at once. Wolfsky9

  • beautiful! :)

  • I owned a silver '57 Chevy, 283 , Power Glide Tranny, & ohhhh, the memories made in that Ride! Graci Froever, Jimmy, Janet, Donna, & All the Skyliners through the years! Wolfsky9 , 64 y/o

  • Very nice video.

  • one of the greatest... thank you I sure miss those concerts of days gone by.

    daddyrockinstrong

  • The still sound great! Love 'em; always did!

    Thanks for the posting!

  • What happened to the rest of the original group. I knew about the tragedy of the woman singer but what about the rest of the group?

  • Sweet!

  • I was so in love with Jimmy Beaumont back then. (this, I swear, is true)

"My lips will kiss, I vow,,,,nobody else but you". (great words!)

Thanks for sharing this with us!...................Jan

  • this song performed on la bamba movie

  • nothin sounds better in my '64 t-bird then this tune!!! THE LOVE SKYLINERS...and jimmy beaumont's great voice!!!

  • one of the all time great ballads. they dont come any better than this, and This I Swear is a close second. thanks jimmy, joe rock, and the group. Oh, and the Pittsburgh skyline.

  • Jimmy is sure a sexy guy

  • DOO WOPS WILL BE AROUND FOR EVER. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER.

  • i like this song but kenny vance does great job aswell thanks drew england

  • Janet Vogel was actually the original female lead but she is passed..RIP. Donna does and awesome job, love this song!!!

  • If you go to Facebook, you will find that actors and extras are needed for the Janet Vogel biopic. (Janet was at one time sang with this group.)

  • Janet's son (the one that suicided) has decided to make a movie about her and this group. Casting is now being done as we speak. "The movie is titled "Since I don't have you.) I can't wait for it to come out. I am crazy about this group!!

  • @manila7979 I will be in line for tickets to that one. Wow!

  • Awesome...that is what they call music.. you can understand every word...Beautiful music.. What wonderful memories this music brings back..thanks for sharing..Bless you day

  • two of the most beautiful cuts of all time......impeccable vocal harmony

  • Donna, you are gorgeous, & Jimmy, GBY for all the music, through all the years. Wolfsky9

  • Jimmy Beaumont retains that rich tonal quality many tenors would die for. I'm in love!

  • I love Jimmy Beaumont !!!!!!

  • . This performance takes my breath away.

  • Wow!! Just saw JImmy Beaumont and the Skyliners this past evening at the

Keswick, Glenside, Pa. outside Philly. Simply sensational..thrills and chills.

    Keep on rockin.....come on back....what a treat!!!!!!!!!

  • What a sound, what a song, what an era.......there will never be another time like this - long live the 50's...........Try listening to SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU - without reminiscing - this is the anthem of that era.........thanks guys...........

  • iam 24 yrs old and by far this is the best music of all time, i grew up on all the oldies

  • I can hardly write this `cos my eyes keep welling up with tears of sheer emotion ! This is the music of the angels - straight out of heaven.....and it`s way way way above and beyond about 99% of any other popular music in all of history !

  • Nice posting! 2 classic Doo Wop songs by a very dynamic group!

  • Comment removed

  • Just incredible!!! I wish I would have been old enough to see and hear this music back then!!!

  • Donna just keeps getting better with age. What a doll what a voice.

  • Jimmy, Thank-you for the memories, & Ohhhh Donna, U R such a total Babe! Wolfsky9

  • What great memories!!!

  • Damn!! They're good. Age has not taken away the purity of Jimmy's voice. I'm in love!

  • Can you tell me if Jimmy Beaumont is still a live? And does he still performs with the Skyliners?

  • @78Johnnyboy

Jimmy Beaumont IS still alive. However, two other original members have passed away.

  • I keep going back to play this one.

  • OMG!...all those who don't love the Skyliners and this song please go stand in the corner, as the firing squad would like to have a "chat" with you...

  • Sorry I am so picky, but in your description you misspelled Pittsburgh, PA. I am sure all Pennsylvania natives will be happy if you could correct it. Thanks

  • So noted and corrected,sorry.

  • @mcwill98 things like this reallllllyyyyy don't matter

  • Comment removed

  • @mcwill98 who cares pittsburgh is a shithole

  • Jimmy's Still got it! And Donna's voice is beautiful with a smile to match! Thanks for posting Rathahonni.

  • Donna Groom did wonderfully well on the PBS special also with "The Tokens" when they did their hit "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". For some reason though it was partially taken off YouTube. The video is there but no sound.

  • Donna Groom is an excellent soloist, and can play a mean left-handed keyboard.

  • Actually, Doo Wop was not invented by blacks.

If it wasn't for us crackers, you niggers would still be strumming banjos on your porches.

Us honkies gave you darkies jobs and recorded your black asses.

I'll admit, you started R&B, but you also fucked up the genre good and well. Let's see a single mainstream black man record good music now-a-days.

  • LMFAO you prick you have no idea what you're pimple poppin' ass is talking about. ITALIANS!!!! made doo-wop popular, you "honkies" just tried to hop on the band wagon just like you guys do with EVERYTHING!!! you "crackers" gave us jobs???? you serious??? BROOKLYN MAFIA gave your people & my people jobs you dumb ass. you pink in the face whites would of been singing doo-wop in your grand fathers living room if it wasn't for early New York mafiosos.

NOW GET OFF YOUR MOTHERS COMPUTER LITTLE BOY

  • Uh oh! I made the burr-head angry.

I think you should stick with to playing basketball and pimping or whatever the hell you jigs do for a living.

By the way, you do realize that La Cosa Nostra is NOT ITALIAN? They were Sicilian, shit-for-brains!

And why are you separating Whites from Mafiosi? Are Mafia men not white or something? Did blacks invent the Mafia too over in Africa?

I'd tell you to open a history book, and read it, but I don't think you Blacks can read.

  • kid are you stupid? does your mom know what you're doing on the computer? keep jerking off with the volume low at night loser.

Actually I think I can read better than you....just like how I can read that stupid look on your face right now yet I cant even see you.

Now go play with your local Anti-Semite buddies in a piggly wiggly parking lot lmao chump!

  • You're just another wannabe gangsta, correct?

"I think I can read better than you....just like how I can read that stupid look on your face right now yet I cant even see you"

Quite the 'inventive' bit of word-play. I wonder how many hours it took you to think that up.

And Anti-Semite??? Shows how much you know about me I guess. Why don't you take a look at my profile and try calling me Anti-Semitic again.

  • kid I dont care enough about you to click your name.

And If Im wrong about you...well so be it, trust me it matters NONE to me to be wrong about you.

  • You keep calling me 'kid'... interesting.

Well regardless of your personal level of ignorance, you don't appear to be a particularly smart person.

In that regard, you represent your race very well. Continue taking "gansta" pics, abusing the English language, acting like a clown, and blaming Whitey for all your problems.

  • I call you kid, cause thats what you are in my eyes. A CHILD, you can be 47 for all I care, you're still a kid child to me.

And talking about my pics lmao I must not be too much of an ignorant person seeing as you cared enough to click my name & check up on me lol. I'm flattered...really I am. Now go say goodnight to your mom before you go to bed kid, & dont forget to thank her for that nice meal she cooked tonight. Maybe one day you'll be a man & move out, but for now you're still a KID lol.

  • Ha, what a fucking laugh! You're some sorta judge of character now? I don't need to know a thing about you to see you're full of shit.

"I must not be too much of an ignorant person seeing as you cared enough to click my name"

Holy shit dude, I can't even begin to understand what you're trying to say there.

Ignorant: Uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication.

How does me looking at your profile make YOU not ignorant? Learn your vocabulary, hood-trash.

  • Dont front, you know you understood every word I wrote lol so you can cut the bullshit kid.

I still dont understand, if Im so ignorant & you're intellectually superior to me....then why do I strike any desire in you to check my profile? lol that doesn't seem logical.

If Im so ignorant I guess ignorance must be appealing to you.

  • Ignorance is appealing to me? How do you surmise that?

As for looking at your profile, I wanted to know exactly what kind of moron I was dealing with. You're just another slack-jawed bit of trash from the streets.

And call me a kid as much as you want. I'm twice as mature and probably ten times more intelligent than you will ever be.

  • kid go watch the game, the yankees about to take game 3 go tune in & stop playing on your parents computer U dork lol.

  • screw the yankees

  • so then go watch Hannity or whatever the hell it is you watch for entertainment. Just leave me the fuck alone already, Im not a babysitter.

  • Fuck you, buddy. I bet you never even went to college. You'd be lucky if you were half your age, mentally.

  • uh oh, he's angry lol give it a rest kid, this was fun for maybe the first day, but now...come on bro you're trying too hard.

But, dont stop now ok, we're over here cracking up lol

    LOSER!!!!!!

    ^

    ^

    ^

That was Melody, she wanted to put her 2 cents in, everyone else is calling you a faggot, but I'll just call you a "bitch" I think that one is a more suitable character phrase lol lmao!!!

  • Shit! Looks like all the yard apes are jumping out of the wood work.

Who's Melody? Some big-assed whore friend of yours?

You having a party down at the Projects or something? Got your 40's and crack all out?

  • 1. I've never lived in any projects

    2. Get out more, dudes dont drink 40's anymore lol this isn't 1994

    3. Melody does have a nice ass but she's white lol

see thats the difference between you & I, I actually have friends & guess what.....they dont all look alike. some are black, some are brown, some are white, some are asian, some are smart & smart can be dumb at times. But here's the kicker...WE ALL GET ALONG! and thank you because you gave us all a GREAT laugh that we enjoyed TOGETHER.

  • You wanna know something really funny? Anytime someone on the internet says,

"My friends are all sitting here laughing at you",

    It actually means,

"I'm sitting here alone desperately trying to think up comebacks."

And in the extremely slim chance that you showed your friends this conversation, and they're getting a good laugh, tell them that if they think I'm funny on YouTube, they outta catch my stand-up routine.

  • Wait! You're not a darky... you're a wetback aren't you!!!

    HAHAHA!

Hey Chulo, I have a deck I need built. You and your 50 family members wanna jump in a van and work for slave wages?

  • See once again you prove your ignorance. My mother is Black & my father is from Belize. You dont get tired of being wrong do you?

And what deck do you own??? You own no home & you pay no mortgage. You live in your mom & dads house lol.

  • And you show off your own wetback ignorance now.

I live in an apartment, and I don't get money from my dad. My mom's been dead for 5 years now, so I'm not getting money from that channel.

So what do you do for a living other than hanging around in front of Home Depot looking for cheap work? Sell drugs? Steal?

  • I am impressed that there are so many MATURE DUCKS who remember this music and know how to enjoy it again. Thank you UTUBE. Wish we had U back in the 50's

  • Thats back when music was music.

    My teen years.

Nothing hateful about that tpye music like today.

Gladd to see they can still sing with gray hair. Thanks for putting this on here. : )

  • Gotto LOVE the oldies

  • was this at the benudum center in pittsburgh?

  • Just a timeless classic from the Late 50's. I so remember seeing the group do this on " AB " . Janet, we miss you so much, but Donna, you are total class & your voice is gorgeous. Wolfsky9

  • This is my type of music. I Love it.

  • for the love of music, never money nor fame.

    thanks Jimmy

  • 1965 in the back seat of my 58 Chevy; "if the car is rockin DONT come knocking" lol GREAT song thanks for posting!

  • Beaumont may have lost a shade of

range here obviously, but still a very

    respectable rendition. Jack Nicklaus

    doesn't shoot 65 anymore either.

  • Wolfsky9: My first car, in 1966, was a '58 Bel Air, beige with gold interior. At the same time, my mom had a '58 Biscayne. Ya had to love those old boats!

  • my first car was a 1965 ford galaxie 2-door hardtop. i bought it when i was 15. my dad helped me restore it, and we had it ready when i turned 16. i would get my buddies and we would head down to cruise the dock on friday night. we would listen to oldies on the factory am radio. and this was in 1990.

  • the doo wop is fantastic songs...es la polla....CATALONIA IS NOT SPAIN

  • My 1st car, in 1964 : a '58 Chevy Impala, 348 V-8, red, with white interior; it was sooooo fine, & I loved it, almost as much as I loved hearing Janet, Jimmy & the guys do these songs! This music is Forever, & Donna, you are just a total-Babe! Wolfsky9

  • Oldies are the best.

  • There isn't a time that I go out driving in my '57 Chevy or '64 Impala that I don't have "Since I don't have you" or "this I swear" playing on my car stereo. Through those of us that were there, Doo Wop shall be passed on to future generations, and never die. Love those Skyliners!

  • Always wanted a 57 ht Chevy,Too late for me.

  • I'm 54 now...trust me man, it's never too late to live your life the way you want...I do this all the time...It's like the 50's music I listen to...because I live it, and they see me living my dreams, they believe they can live their dreams as well...whatever their dreams may be...As for the '57 I kept that dream alive until one day I found a guy that just about gave it to me ...Make the decision today to live your dreams...I'll be here to cheer you on Man....and so will the Doo Wop!

    Danny

  • @NurzDan I played it in a 59 Impala and lots of other cars back then and it´s perfect today in a 56 Willys Truck. The girls a changing but the music are still the same, all beautyful...

  • When I 1st heard this song done at this concert, my eyes teared up, and I was just overwhelmed with sadness & loss for this wonderful music, & all those years. Where did they go, & why did they go so fast?? Jimmy, Donna, & guys, you are magnificent. Wolfsky9

  • was this live not synced?! wow amazing

  • Nothing will ever take the place of the Doo Wop and oldies. Music at its best!!!

  • this kind of music make me feel sad and some times a couple tears come out, good stuff!!!
