I think the song is about someone that just makes up their personality, pretending to be someone they aren't. And they do it over and over again, out of habit even. So now they aren't respected because no one can trust them cause they can't tell when they're being real. So they don't fit in anywhere and don't have any friends because of it.

This song speaks waay too much to me to be a coincidence. :P as far as I can understand this is referring to someone who is used to living his life based on lies and deciet. He is desperate to be himself and be a true and honest person but he's "stolen his identity" meaning he's "stolen" the behavior and actions of another to replace them so much so that he doesn't know how to be himself. and the world gives him no reason to be a person of "integrity".
