Hey buddy might want to check your facts, the AAD doesnt fire at 2500m, (thats around 8000ft ...) Depending on the aad, cypress/vigil/argus and the mode - tandem/expert/speed dictates the high and its more like 800ft to 1200ft.

This was clearly a static line jump by a novice sky diver...probably their first.

Unless you've ever done this you won't understand how disorienting it can be to a beginner and how quickly everything happens. There is acute temporal distortion due to the flooding adrenaline when beginning this sport.

Static line jumps are dangerous in the sense that they are done at quite low altitudes (~3000-4000') which is mere seconds from the ground.

It is possible (but not advisable) to jump from a plane at 500 feet. Most countries aviation authorities require that the main parachute is open by 2000' at minimum. The seventeen seconds to impact suggest this aircraft was at a little higher than that (perhaps 2500) when the jumper exited. Quite possible for someone doing a "hop and pop" but not for a novice. The jump and fatality look real to me. Condolances to those affected and respects to everyone who skydives.

You cant blame the people for how they react in this video, and of course they searched for the body afterwards, but when you're in such shock you usually don't run all that way to see the corpse.
