I just got thiz game today for something towaste my time on . I loved the first one , not only for the strategy element and the fact that I love the game of Football , but for the sort of RPG element it had . Interviewz , player chemistry , seeing yourself sitting in the office or at the table for staff meetingz . It all just made you feel IN THE GAME . Now that Im looking at the videoz , thiz just lookz like a Football simulator

This being on the Xbox 360, I was expecting the graphics to be more advance. They actually look no better than the first xbox version, which is the only version that I played. Do people play this game on xbox live still?

Awesome idea and concept for a game, but too bad it didn't sell to well. I wish they would work head coach into Madden somehow. Like if you do franchise, like when they used to have owner mode, they could like a head coach mode. You could be the head coach for different teams during franchise. But that would be too much work for EA... who suck at making video games.

I get 16-0 if i coach, 16-0 if i don't.. Easy game. Passing is so easy on this game, and if you want to rush, sim mode. Although i am shit at defense, good cbs, but a horrible d line. I think the highest rush def i got was 25th.

This is the best football game ever made .......... There is a difference between fans and fanatics ...... Fans like madden ... Fanatics like head coach ........ Madden takes no strategy ....... Head Coach is no dummy ...... See where I'm going with this ....... Bought the anniversary edition of madden just so I could have this game a month early ...... Haven't bought a madden since ...... Not to mention only played the anniversary edition twice...... BoneHeads stick with madden......

@IBloodSweatTears Yeah it was because their was more to do, and their were audibles in that game. Their was one game where on NFL Head Coach 09 I played, and I made a mistake and called a onside kick while winning the game. The other team took the lead before 1:00 before halftime. But my team march down the field and scored with :3 seconds and took back the momentum haha. I went on to win that game. The first one is a lot more fun though, but it's a little on the easy side.

@quantae06 Yea your right, They put some thought into that first one, it was a fresh new concept and Idea & they did a good job, I meen. the trade engine isn't great, free agency either, but I just like it better.

this game is super fun if u dont have it dont diss it until u play it all of the games r close just like in real life and u gotta call the right plays at the right time i was down by 6 with 1:48 and i had to drive down and score and it was the funnest ive had with a game in a long time its not like madden when you can throw 60 yard bums all the time u gotta really throw check downs and stuff to keep the chains moving

This game even has a buillt-in fail safe that if your winning towards the end of the fourth quarter, an Icon on your xbox pops up and says something like "this game cannot be played- please remove and clean with a clean cloth" or somthing like that LOL ever seen a video game thats a sore loser ? This is it!

The clock management even favors the computer! At the 2 minute warning if the CPU is playing offense it stops the clock after each play, that wont happen for you. Also if u try to kick a fieldgoal with 8 seconds left the clock with run down to 0:00 and you cant kick! If you dont believe try it and see what happens. LOL a video game that hates losing so its designed to screw you !! DO NOT BUY

i love doing the draft part, i got chris johnson and jerod mayo in the first round and i'm the colts! you can totally change the whole real NFL story and sorta make it your fantasy team (for rookies)

why did u decline that penalty? opp 39 is better then opp 49. i guess maybe ur thinking that 49 is higher then 39 so that puts u at better field position but when its your opponents side u want to be have a lower number. in other words if ur at opp 1 then i would say thats pretty good field position.

in my 2nd year of this game in the draft i got a Qb thats compaired to Tom Brady, he was a beast and i started him his first year and he got us to the super bowl!! i couldnt believe that. the team i used was the Vikings too. oh and Darren McFadden is wack as hell in this game.

They have advanced clock on. The clock runs 40 seconds off after each play unless the clock stops due to an incomplete pass or whatever.

the only thing good about this game is that the offensive plays are more realistic sounding than madden plays..for example on this game its Z short 92 dive..on madden its HB dive..other than that head coach 09 is impossible and terrible

Unfortunately many of you do not have any idea what you're talking about. There is MUCH more to this game than just calling plays. You manage a franchise for up to 15 seasons. The draft and scouting is utterly spectacular. Each player has a personality type that governs how they react to every action of the coach (you).

The game just has so much depth. It is meant for people that love managing a franchise.

Some people play games to do more than just run players around.
