When a Christian tries to give me the "majority think it, so it must be true" argument about their religion, I always enjoy reminding them of how outnumbered Christians are by Muslims. 50 Million Elvis Fans Can't be Wrong!
Interesting coincidence, I just happen to be reading an old 'used book store' treasure called 'words and images' by E.L. Mascall that is dealing with the same issues. through that I happened on a very humorous article written on a episode in A.J. Ayers life concerning him choked to death on a piece of smoked salmon and having an epiphany of sorts. It convinces me that their is something in the ether's that brings us all together, or maybe its the spirits.
The plot thickens, we find out that the person administering the 'salmon' in question to Mr Ayers, is one in a many long line of mistresses, for it seems he was quite a womanizer, and his departed wife's maiden name was, you guessed it Salmon, Not only could this be tales from beyond the grave, but also retribution from beyond the grave?
You use terrific and illustrative examples for your fallacies. You have brought clarity and understanding to logic and taken an often dry topic and injected colorful humor while maintaining focus. Thanks you, you are brilliant and entertaining. Wow, did I leave anything out? Sorry for the mushy talk.
I've never held that belief regarding God (or god, depending on whatever yada yada blah blah blah). But I HAVE felt that way regarding reruns of Rhoda.
I believe these falacy videos of yours are in fact entertaining. Since I am entertained, I must enjoy quickies.
share more about your boyfriend :-)

@kenrg It is so true that one cannot argue with the logic of Elvis. It overrides all fallacies.
FantasticBabblings 2 years ago
I'm loving these videos, Phil. You make these fallacies so easy to understand.

I try. Too often logic is made to sound complicated (which it can be). But I like simplicity. It makes my head hurt less.

So...therefore, when my sistah Ida says that she is go'in to heaven and I will burn for eternity in the cleansing fire.....that may not be true?..
.....she sounds so sure about it!

Epiphany on smoked salmon? He must have been at Barney Greengrass.
