That's the problem. There's an easy fix for this that wouldn't require homosexual union to damage the "sanctity of marriage" (as if there is such a thing). If you just change the laws that give more rights to heterosexual married people so that everyone has the same rights no matter what, this would be an even greater non-issue than it already is.
