I´m not sure if you know the book? Then you would know that Jane isn´t a real beauty! Jane´s preferences are her fortitude and loyalty! And I think Ruth Wilson who plays Jane is the perfect choice in every sense! No one did ever played this part better than Ruth!!

yes, i suppose youre right and yes i am too familiar with the book i just think it unjust that Mr. Rochester (who is also said to be unhandsome) is portrayed by one who is when she is not however this really is the best reenactment of the book

I think she really is pretty. I think she's pretty in the series Jane Eyre too. But in my opinion it's just good - she isn't too pretty and beautiful to be Jane Eyre, but she's pretty in her own, unusual way like I have always thought Jane was. And about Toby, he really is handsome, but I don't see him too handsome to be Mr. Rochester. He is not cute or anything like that, but handsome in his rough, masculine way - just like Mr. Rochester, I think.

Well, actually it´s right. The description of the "book-Rochester" pictures him as a ugly man, but Toby´s Rochester is really superb so that this "wrong" aspect of this film version doesn´t disturb! ;-)
