  • What would he rather eat inside a Porsche? I can’t make out what he’s saying. :p

  • @Xozny Foi Gras, it's french Goose Pate, it's known to be really fancy in Europe

  • Comment removed

  • Why does that song touch me so deeply?

  • Comment removed

  • Being Welsh I just want to point out it's Llewellyn xD But that comment was from a year ago, so I'll just leave this here.

  • Haha twincest.

    Win.

  • Actually it does rhyme but in an unusual pattern- listen carefully :)

  • @xSpiritOfJazzx

There's nothing unusual about the rhyme scheme. It's a very straight-forward ABABAB.

  • an uneducated person woulden't realize that Tim avoided rhyming on purpose in this video

if he wanted to he can rhyme something godlike

  • He say's "Stingy Fucking Bastard" and they edited out the word fucking.

  • i thought one of the categories of hardwood is HARD?

  • @SenorCockblock Yew is a counterexample from the opposite camp; a hard softwood. But yes, the harder hardwoods are hard.

You know, in case you didn't know that already.

  • stingy bastard isn't 3 words!

  • @bloodypedant Exactly, he was too greedy to afford even three words! haha

  • @bloodypedant i think it says stingy fuckin bastard but its been edited out.

  • @sidneysmooth oh, thanks! :)

  • @sidneysmooth no he doesn't say that, he says ''stingy barst-dad''. So yes. it is 3 words!

Great song though let's not bogged down in all that

  • Am I the only one who had a staring competition with this immobile picture of Tim Minchin?

  • @P3rf3ctNBetw33n hehehehehehe:P yeah... but it wasn't a purposeful staring comp, more of a *ahhhh timmmm <3"

  • @P3rf3ctNBetw33n No. Sad part is, I lost.

  • This song is really catchy, although suddeny singing the chorus while biking in the woods makes people on the trails stare at you.

    *The more you know!*

  • I have only one problem with this song. He mispronounces 'Llewelyn ' but that's just petty :P

  • I want a dinosaur made of balsa wood and glue.

  • About how much is 47 stone in lbs or kilos??

  • @BlazinColdStoned Nevr mind. Its like 660 lbs

  • @BlazinColdStoned

stone is based in English and 14lbs when referring to people. making it around 6.3 kg.

  • @crazytom7311 So he weighs 658 lbs

  • Why are the most boring comments always on top?

  • 13 people's dad didn't make them a dino made out of balsa wood & glue.

  • 13 people have a serious mental disorder.

  • i love the way he says Dino :P what a sexy beast :P x

  • 12 people havent had a page 3 girl spread marmite on their scrotum

  • but they didnt look alike, and did stuff twins dont do.

  • Great song, but not a very flattering photo of ole Tim.. Normally a rather dashing fellow, this does not do him justice. But maybe I'm just being picky ;)

  • I just looked up a video about a foie gras assembly line...fuck!

  • Is he trying to say something about capitalism?

  • What a legand, like this if you agree (Y)

  • It's spelt "Foie Gras" ^^

    Other wise, this is excellent.

  • i bought a 200 quid toaster whith which mia made me toast

  • Great song

  • "A rent boy named Lwelyn, though I'm neither Welsh nor gay."

  • "But soon I borked at snorkeling,

forked my snorkel in the trash"

    love it.

  • when is this show on?

  • 2:30 Hey! No singing along with yourself! Bad Tim! No breaking the laws of nature! :p (Yeah, I know it's a recorded backdrop, but I was confused for about 4 seconds)

  • yeah, I bet you don't how great being rich is until you have a prostitute spread marmite on your scrotum.

  • oh right, and a gluttony song, i forget the title but its something about parents with fat children :p ... so that just leaves pride i think ^.-

  • he also has an envy song or my neighbour's ass

  • wait... did he do all of the seven deadly sins?

He's got lust, greed, sloth and... erm... angry

  • I believe the word you're looking for is "Wrath."

  • @Novur You mean "wroth"? ;D

  • @ComeAllYouWeary No, I mean "Wrath."

  • @Novur You definitely mean 'wroth', cretin.

  • @ComeAllYouWeary Why would it be wroth?

  • @fokkhead Because it technically is 'wroth' and not 'wrath' which must be some ancient mistranslation, perhaps.

  • @ComeAllYouWeary Yes, but in modern English, we say 'wrath'.

  • @ComeAllYouWeary There is no evidence for your assertion. The word is properly pronounced "roth" (at least in BE) but it is spelled "wrath". It wasn't spelled with an o in Old or Middle English and it certainly isn't spelled that way in Modern English.

There is an adjective form "wroth" (with a different pronunciation) meaning "wrathful", but Novur was using the noun.

  • @ComeAllYouWeary

    Lust : Lustful

    Gluttony : Gluttonous

Greed : Greedy (Avarice : Avaricious)

    Sloth : Slothful

Wrath : Wroth (Anger : Angry)

    Envy : Envious

    Pride : Pride

We generally use the noun-form (the first column in the list above) to describe the list of sins.

    TRiG.

  • @qwertyTRiG

    Pride: Proud.

  • @ItsameAlex Yes. Type there. Thanks.

    TRiG.

  • @Novur You definitely mean 'wroth', cretin.

  • @ComeAllYouWeary Do you spell "A small retail store or a specialty department in a large store" as "Shoppe"? No! You spell it the way that you were brought up to spell it, the way that is accepted as the correct spelling. You spell it "Shop."

And who are you to judge me a cretin? What do you know of me?

  • @Novur Actually.. Shoppe is the correct spelling.

  • @johnnysbasement - It's not. Shop is the correct spelling and in the 23 years I've spoken the language and lived in England I have NEVER seen anyone spell it as 'Shoppe'. Perhaps it's a variant of the word 'shop' but I've witnessed anyone use the spelling 'shoppe'.

  • @johnnysbasement Umm... only in a 'ye olde sweete shoppe' sense, which might as well be Chaucer's English. I've never seen it used in anything but marketing ploys and tourist attractions. 'Shop' is the correct spelling in modern English.

  • @blackplatypus He's got jealousy too, it's called "My Neighbour's ass".

  • u dip shit he plays piano and all so he can play guitar a bit as he does on his dvd so fucking rock live

  • Marmite on their scrotum, LOL

  • funny, because I ACTUALLY spat coke on my keyboard =] so damn funny. lucky I'm using my crap keyboard.

  • at marmite i almost spat juice on my keyboard

  • i found my wooden dinosaur which all these years has lasted, and i cremated it

    lol

  • 4:20

  • Its not Balsa, wood and glue

ITs Balsa wood and glue! :)

  • no:

Tim Minchin - Greed (Balsa Wood & Glue)

Balsa wood is a type of wood.

  • A rare talent.

  • gonna see him soon hopefully :)

  • i love this song - its so catchy lol

    wish i could c him.....

  • He look bald on 1st pic

    love tim minchin!

  • i will kill happily all who say tim sucks, so be carefully

i just love him, wanna see him

  • Awesome! Looks a bit like Bill Bailey in that photo

  • If Bill Bailey wore eyeliner, he would look a bit like that picture.

  • Damn that's catchy.

  • tim minchin is awesome

  • Incredible music.

  • ah but the Oxford comma is optional these days, and whether you use it or not generally depends on your teacher's preference :)

  • Just felt I had to point something out... the use of a comma would break rythm. While the use of a comma would generally be correct, common grammar usage is less important in poetry or songwriting.

Now that that's been cleared up, shut up and enjoy the brilliance that is Minchin.

  • haha, gonna have to disagree with you on this one Paddy (in Australia any way). According to the official Australian grammar documentation (who woulda thought countries actually have that stuff?) the comma is not required after Balsa Wood lol. But like i said, this is Australian, and i'm not here to argue semantics (as you can see i aint used good grammar 'ere either lol )

  • actually there's only one time when it's proper to follow a comma with the word and, when there's a subordanate clause

  • @bubbagal2000 In a list of many items, a comma before the /and/ is optional. It is described as the periodic or Oxford comma. In a list of only two items, such a comma would be, quite simply, wrong. "Balsa wood" is one item, "glue" is another. That makes two items: no comma.

    TRiG.

  • @qwertyTRiG blud, i commented that over a year ago... i have NO idea what you're on about and im sure that comment you just put isnt even relevant to my point about subordinate clauses

  • MAS. I learned that from QI aswell!

  • You know balsa wood is actually technically a hardwood despite being the softest wood, because it is a non monocotyledon angiosperm/magnoliophyta meaning it flowers. Also, tits.

  • Hah, I just learned that today watching QI.

  • I lol'ed

  • Very cunning use of google there, Gold Star :D

  • Mnemonic memory techniques actually. Anything I read I can commit to memory indelibly. You should try it out.

  • tits... always relevant

  • @WARPALORPA ahahah also tits

  • @WARPALORPA I suspect you have never whacked yourself in the head with a piece of balsam wood.... It feels 10 times more solid then normal wood (me and my friends had fun with that :P )

  • Tim Minchin - Greed (Balsa(,*)Wood & Glue)

  • Monkey, why are you correcting the comma? Its Balsa wood, not just Balsa.. If you are going to correct the gramma, its the Capital W in wood that should be changed..

    //Gramma Nazi goes home//

  • Aceripper1, the capital in wood is acceptable, it's a song title. If you're going to correct grammar, do it right.

  • I would love it if a cd of the songs he did on this show came out

  • what does he have engraved on his dad's gravestone? i heard "stingy" and "basterd"

  • stingy mmm'n' bastard...

the left out word was 'fucking'

tim likes to swear but he also doesn't like to alienate non-swearing people from his audience...he's a good kid like that...haha

  • thnx, god bless him for it too.

he's so innocent, when not wearing make-up.

  • Also, there's no way you'd get away with saying "fucking" on Radio 4 :P

  • Actually it's because he's on BBC Radio 4 and isn't allowed to swear on it.

  • haha that makes me laugh because after censoring himself he swears anyway, genius

  • @mikichanchanchan He likes to swear, but this song was broadcast on the half-past-six comedy slot on BBC Radio 4. Swearing was not allowed in that context. Radio 4 often broadcasts adult comedy, and pure filth (it's the home of "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue", which is some of the funniest filth I've ever heard anywhere), but it doesn't generally like swear words.

    TRiG.

  • @qwertyTRiG you strike me as the kind of person who likes to smell his own farts

  • Comment removed

  • he looka kind of evil in that picture.

    great song though :D

  • is this show still on?

  • A certain piano-playing Aussie's hair outdates Russel Brand's....

Anyway, Tim sounds gorgeous, as always. Shame I can't make it to Sydney for December show of "Ready For This"... I'll just have to buy the DVD

  • Gotted!

    HA!

  • can you get this song on a cd?

  • Funny cos the only 2 people I went to see at this years Melbourne Comedy Festival were Mark Watson and Tim Minchin. I didn't know they'd worked together before.

  • LOL but they didn't look that similar and they did stuff twins don't do !!!! XDXDXDXDXDXD|XD

  • Hes under appreciated so much.

  • Tim Minchin looks like Chris Angel and Russell Brand's lovechild lol

    but he's so good

  • you forgot bill bailey

  • Bill Bailey and Russel Brand, yeah! I've been thinking the same thing!

  • He is in fact their son. He grew up without them though, but the ressemblance is there. Hurr Durr.

  • Only Tim would rhyme consumption with scrotum!

  • ...but soon I borked at snorkelling forked my snorkel in the trash.

  • truer words have nevr been spoken my friend!

  • There really is nothing like hearing an Australian pronouncing fois gras, because it actually sounds like a scared duck

  • far gra. lolol. aussies rule.

  • =D haha

  • @Speakersoxx it's deliberately accentuated

  • below a gravestone with three words on it "stingy ****ing bastard"

    lmao, genius

  • "And a rent boy called Llewelyn, though I'm neither Welsh nor gay."

    LOLOLOLOL! I love this song!

  • he looks very much like bill bailey in that photo, and slightly like alexi laiho, oddly enough....Tim FTW

  • odd i thought of him as Bill Bailey's illegitimate love child that no one knows of.....

  • :P that would be gr8

  • Does normal people think he is as funny and awesome as I do? Or is the humor a bit narrow/"intelligent" for most people?

  • Plenty of people who aren't normal, thankfully. There seems to be an influx of intelligent comedian at the moment - Robin Ince, Will Smith to name a couple.

  • it depends wheather you understand the grammer

  • iactually love this...almost as much as him <3

    =)

    x

  • I fucking love Tim Minchin!!!!! I haven't heard one thing that I don't like, I love it all!!!!! He's brilliant!!!!!! Stingy fucking bastard mas!!! hehehehehe

  • lol whoo!

I was gonna start revision + coursework as I have mocks next week and about 3 pieces of unstarted coursework in...

But who needs grades when you have Tim Minchin?

  • Yeah. My mocks are tomorrow & I was like "revision... oooh, Tim Minchin..."

  • XD "Though I'm neither Welsh nor gay."

  • "Marmite on my scrotom" Tim fucking rules!

  • "Stingy f**king bastard!!!"

  • I can't explain it, but this is one of my favourite songs by Tim..

  • Omg his eyes are so green!!!!!!
