Madhouse did a great job with season 1 animation. When i started watching season 2 I was like wtf happened to the animation? Then I notices the end credits and saw studio Artland. I kept watching though becuz season 2 did have a pretty good storyline. FYI season 2 has a nice open song but I still favor season 1 opening more bcuz of its melancholic flow and lyrics. The show itself has a depressing atmosphere and season 1 song seems more fitting.
