  • OK, Ok guys, if you need it so badly

Kalmyk = Oirats аre Mongoloids. Yes, we were Mongols, but not ethnically: Genghis Khan conquered and incorporated Oirats into the Mongol tribal alliance. You know it. Yes, Oirats have Mongolian origin, but with an admixture of other blood, so that Oirats аnd Kalmyks not consider themselves true Mongols.

Now we are Russian, but as citizens of Russia, not ethnically. That's how we were the Western Mongols

  • @TheOelun then ok. If you wanna be russian. Then you are russian. Its ur choice. BUT you cannot hide your roots!

  • @MGLomerta

residence / nationality and ethnicity - the same thing?

  • Mi piace, bellissima.

    The singer is kalmyc

  • @TheOelun kalmyks are Mongols :)

  • Check out this video of golden eagles hunting wolves...this is how I first found this song and it took me a while to find the guy singing it. I LOVE this song. By typing in Hunting Wolves With A Golden Eagle In Mongolia (video is 7:34 long). Starts of with paintings of the Mongols their horses and eagles.

  • @TheOelun Ойрады это Монголы. Я сам Ойрад

  • @TheOelun так изначально монголы - это и есть союз племен,его название.

  • The song is sang in a deep upper Mongolia, Russian, accent... Kazakhi accent is what we call em. The name of the song means "moms song" or could also be "moms memories" I can't understand the full song, but i will write out what I can catch here and there. even without the accent, just singing it in the classing throat singing alone makes it pretty hard to understand unless ones ear is used to it. so here it goes... then failed completely. can't understand nothing but few words

  • Can't stop listening to this. Just bought the cd too and can't wait for it.

  • Very nice!!

  • What is the meaning of this song? where can I find translation?

This song is extremely beautiful and I love Okna's voice and talent.

He's been part of a dear friend's album with this song (Gaïa by Alan Simon -check it out!) and I think Okna's voice adds a lot to it.

  • hey saggamawaut, do you have the lyrics?

  • no, I'm sorry :( its almost four years now since i spoke mongolian the last time so im quite outta practice, else i could've listened them out ^^

  • ha ha thanks, i am mongolian and it is kind of hard to make the lyrics out because of his accent

  • hehe ^^ which part of mongolia do you come from? i lived in darhan for 11 years... was a great time

  • that is NO ACCENT!!! grrrrr....that is A LANGUAGE!!! kalmuk language=khalimag kele. Therefore it is somehow "hard to make the lyrics" for you.)))

  • yeah, sorry if i offended you. i do understand some words like gashuun bulgiin us ni=Gashoune boulgine oucnaseu

  • )))it's OK,no hard feelings...this song is a kalmuk folk song and when Okna Tsahan Zam recorded it and a clip was made in Mongolia it became very popular there. But long before that in every single kalmuk family this song had been sung for long time.

  • great song
