  • very slow, where is the keyboard?

  • I nearly fell asleep

  • i just go an amazon kindel2

  • imagine if it had flash and you could watch you tube videos on it haha

  • E-Ink displays are more expensive than LCDs.

  • yea but i know they dont cost retailers over 50$ to make these things

  • how much power do these things actually use?

  • 1.21 gigawatts

  • it doesnt require much power as a normal lcd screen would do, epaper only charges when display changes, in other words, once a page is loaded, even you cut down the power the page will still be there

  • gnome!

  • when is all this technology available??

  • It's ALREADY available! Search for iLiad, Cybook Gen3, Kindle or Sony PRS-505

  • I can not afford this device. Will somebody buy it for me.

  • What's really bizarre about this video is that when they do the google search, my brain fills in the colors of the letters in the word "Google" even though I know the screen is black and white.

  • its called googlephyllia

  • the exact same thing happened to me.

  • I love my Iliad :=).

  • im about to purchase an ebook reader... im looking at the sony reader and the iliad... i stay in india and my uncle will be purchasing it and sending it to me from USA... i will be mainly using it in skl as i hav all my books in PDF and I do a lot of RSS reading everyday... is the sony or the iliad better? is the web browsing pleasant on the iliad? i hav wifi at home... howmuch does the iliad cost?

  • iliad hands down for pdf, next to impossible in the sony unless it's a very small page. Web browsing is pleasant but very rudimentary simple. Iliad with wi fi at 600 euros, without (book edition) 500. Go to mobile read . com to find out more.

  • thought so. but, 600 euros is a big price! as expensive as many dell and hp laptops!

  • well, I wouldn't say many, but form some it is. I don't consider it this expensive wrt what it offers.

  • I sure hope you are right! I just ordered the Iliad Book Edition. So far, I have downloaded over 300 eBooks in anticipation of getting it. BTW, I also got them all for free!

If this works, it has already paid for itself as opposed to buying paper books. That will be etter environmentally, too.

  • well it will work fine, don't worry. Only thing is that it's expected that a larger screen size ebook reader will be out in a few months (october) and probaly irex might have something in store in terms of a v. 3 iliad. But you'll already have yours and put it to good use.
