From the perspective of a recovering alcoholic/addict, stuff like this can actually make you nostalgic. The music is trippy and the lyrics refer to the good feeling that drugs impart (e.g. "I'm in heaven, I'm a god, I'm everywhere, I feel so hot").

The human mind has a tendency to remember good feelings and filter out the horror, so even though the song balances both, it triggers more memories of the pleasures of drug use than of the pain it ultimately caused.
