I need to ask you what happens in the end? does queen die or any of the two. I need to know for my audition for School im Applying at for musical theater? what happens in the end?
If Waldman's production were to have run on Broadway, it would have walked away with the Tony in virtually every category. I saw this imperfect show in & "liked" it, but agreed with all of the critics ... too long, no characters worth caring about, a score that was all over the place, over-produced ... etc.
...a friend dragged me to see this scaled down production that Waldman recreated in West Palm Beach (of all places) and I was blown away. Every challenge was conquered seemingly without effort. Waldman obviously didn't follow a "checklist" as if he were commissioned to solve the show's problems, he simply DID IT BETTER!
Who knows how many underrated musicals there are out there that could use this magic touch? Waldman virtually re-defines the "less is more" theory of theater. In fact, he changed the term to "exactly what is needed is more!". Nothing was missing here. What was added was humanity. Real people in real situations and an incredible score to help them tell their story and provide entertainment and/or discourse as needed. This is how it's supposed to be done. More, please. Much, much more.
MASTERPEICE THEATER! Saw this a couple of years ago while on vacation Ft.Lauderdale (Florida is at the bottom of the pack in BAD REGIONAL THEATER!) By our speechless surpise, THIS SHOW WAS ONE OF THE BEST out of town productions of a Broadway show I HAVE EVER SEEN!I saw it in NY and liked it, but this Director re-vamped it into a more intimate ROCK-THE-HOUSE MASTERPIECE! He knew everthing the show needed to make it a CLASSIC... & A CLASSIC IT IS! ABSOLUTELY SPLENDID! SPLENDID!
Producers, please... BRING OUTSTANDING MUSICAL-THEATER MASTERPIECES LIKE THIS! out on our so that we can all get to see this kind of live energy in-person (off the couch with the built-in nachos tray). TV just cannot give us this degree of entertainment and that is precisely why the musical theater is dying. Wise-up. Stop the grants and give us some damned ENTERTAINMENT!
No, this isn't playing in Mississippi! Or will it ever. Yes, we did get screwed by the IP Casino in Biloxi when we put up the BEST EVER production of the MANILOW show in that awful place!
I don't think this is playing in Mississippi. I heard that the Manilow show got screwed by the IP Casino in Biloxi and "walked" after three performances. NEVER TRUST A RED STATE!
The Broadway production was one of the 1st shows I ever saw in New York. I remember liking it a lot, but I like the intimacy and in-your-face excitement in this clip. These people do AWESOME stuff!!!
i went to see this outstanding production fout times .twice with my wife and twice with friends who went to shut me up because i could not stop talking about it .they in turn sent others who also loved it.
We saw this and it was, by far, the best show we ever saw in Florida! I don't know why it ran for such a short time in New York, but they were obviously doing something wrong! The people who made the original on Broadway should have Waldman put it back up as a revivel or something (I don't know how they do that, but you see it). This show would win every Tony award there is! Its got GREAT muisic, and story with great acting and everything! We LOVED IT and so did all our firends! -Esther Meltzer
SIMPLY AMAZING. tHIS show need exposure. It needs to be on broadway or vegas or anywhere wher you can get your just deserts. Keep plugging away. You will get yours, you deserve it
Saw this at the Atlantis Playhouse in Florida. Better than the Broadway version by a mile. If anyone should be lucky enough to buy tickets to Gary's production of The Life, no matter where - run, don't miss the chance.
GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. Remember entertainment anyone? What exactly are 'THE ARTS'? I don't donate to theaters, I buy tickets AND GO! To me, that's how to show support. Live entertainment has become nothing but a tax write-off for rich people. Everyone can buy a ticket and see a live show every now and then. Buy a cheap seat in the back. It still beats the movies and TV by a landslide!
I saw THE LIFE on Broadway twice, and it was a very favorite show of mine. In my move to south Florida I saw an ad for THE LIFE and was suprised that someone is doing the show. I went to see the show several times. Gary Waldman among many of his other works I saw, are amazing, but what he did with THE LIFE is not even directing it is astounding! I know that he had many award nominations and some wins but I don't know of any production that was as good as this.
I need to ask you what happens in the end? does queen die or any of the two. I need to know for my audition for School im Applying at for musical theater? what happens in the end?

Yeah, this is AMAZING! But it's probably playing in Mississippi like these producer's other shows! WHAT IS UP WITH THESE PEOPLE?

AMAZING JOB! Saw this in NY and only Lillias impressed me. This compact, trimmed to a tee version seems more worthy of a Cy Coleman show.
