i couldn't stand that guy live.i dont know the bass sax guy or jerry vivino and the quality is so poor i just assumed one of them was driver when i heard he was in this. i guess it was just a rumor.
I don't see anyone resembling David Driver at all - that's Marty and Danny playing rhythm, and Dan and Flans singing backup. The horns are Stan Harrison (current TMBG horn section mainstay and general saxophone legend), an as-of-yet unidentified bass saxophonist, and Jerry Vivino (Max Weinberg 7/Basic Cable Band woodwind man).
I remember tuning in during the middle of this performance, and just thinking, "What... the fuck...?" And then I realized that it was TMBG, and I thought, "Oh, that explains it." XD I love these guys and the odd songs they create. So fun and addicting!
well honestly I just saw driver quartet open for them a little while ago. (not really anything to speak of) and if one of those guys is David driver I sure can't tell but that's definably Stan Harrison up there he's the man! His talent is freaking unmatched! sorry I took a while to get back
Linnell sounds considerably better in the studio. Live, he doesn't seem to have as much control over his voice.

it's off their latest kids album that just won them a grammy!
isn't that awesome!
theymightbe1984 3 years ago
Yeah, but it's so weird compared to the songs on Here Come The ABCs.

u have a good point there. I think it has to do with them working with the dust brothers so closely on it.
theymightbe1984 3 years ago
But what does that say about the Dust Brothers?!? I like it when they work with the Elegant Too, ala Mr. Xcitement

He has interesting hand gestures in this video
antiphonebill 3 years ago
sometimes i think that if he doesnt have an instrument he just doesnt have anything to do with his hands
but those are classic Linnell hand gestures
theymightbe1984 3 years ago
he does that alot, even whens on Keyboard sometimes

Im so happy to see that Flansburgh himself used this video for the TMBG web site. Our video! Way to go sis!!!!!
theymightbe1984 3 years ago
My favorite thing is the absolutely serious way Flansburgh approaches his lines. He's like, no, really, we want cake.

when Johns next to conan he makes a really weird transformation into a little kid.

that guy who made the CP comment was a dooche.
I took it down. I can't have people sayin stuff like that about tmbg. dude12455 and EatRune are just ignorant, but that one was just malicious.
theymightbe1984 3 years ago
His name is John. If you check out TMBG's other videos it doesn't seem so weird.

that lead singer is very vivacious. he'd be a good actor.

I love this song so much. I watched them perform it on Conan live and went on here to see if there were any videos of it.

Lol, awesome song I saw it on Conan last night at 1:50 AM, after chugging a Monster a few hours before, so naturally it was epic.

Ah - I wondered what happened to the old video. I'm glad you put up this one! (I prefer this version to the recorded song with the kids' vocals.)
