@kevinc1001 I believe that it does not play a factor in them selecting who gets to audition. I think the rules speculate that the contestant cannot be with a label at the time of their auditions, or could not have had a record deal for at least the past few years. I'm not exactly sure. But Adam mentioned this song at one point, so I'm sure NBC was aware.

He had\has a strong fanbase but Capital had to go with.....

Yes I knew this song...from listening it to AOL radio back in 2003...his album was on rotation...we had bought the album way back then and always had it on replay because it was so good!! I like his voice. He has great talent. Its just not my style of music. But I give credit where credit is due. He has a great voice. He deserved to be in the top four of the Voice. I personally would have liked either Vicci or Beverly to win, but they are more my style. He didn't deserve to win, but he deffinately earned it. That is better for him.

It's all about marketing and exposure which is why shows like the Voice are fantastic for an artist. They become household names in a few month's time - for free ! There are SO many fabulous singers who had one grat cd and were dropped ,for whatever reason ,from their labels . Too much talent out there or poor marketing and they got lost in the shuffle . I immediately went out and bought javier's CD after hearing his first note on the Voice - just love the entire cd .

I just realized he's only about 25 here - my son's age ! He looks like a little baby: ) So cute and so much talent !!! I am so happy for him and his family that he won the Voice - he just comes across as a really decent person.

Just curios -is Javier bald or does he shave his head ? I can't tell - I know he obviously favors hats and looks really ncie in them - or without . Just wondered because he would be pretty young here to be bald but I Know people who were bald at very young ages . Just nosy - I love him no matter what .

It's all about marketing and exposure which is why shows like the Voice are fantastic for an artist. They become household names in a few month's time - for free ! There are SO many fabulous singers who had one grat cd and were dropped ,for whatever reason ,from their labels . Too much talent out there or poor marketing and they got lost in the shuffle . I immediately went out and bought javier's CD after hearing his first note on the Voice - just love the entire cd .

I see why he didn't last it was 2003, and it sounded like a 90's song. I've got some advice for you Javier: simple words, no substance, make the entire song a hook, and use an autotune.
That's the secret to success.
