Beecham, Inc. (the people who originally marketed "Brylcreem") was the manufacturer of "Macleans" toothpaste at the time they were one of "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR"'s "participating sponsors" [Roger Carroll, announcer]. Today, "Macleans" is primarly available throughout Europe and Asia, through Beecham's successor, GlaxoSmithKline. Yes, their jingle WAS catchy in '67, but "Macleans" itself....eh!
mammabearis...this is your Jersey friend..wow..memories!! Thanks sooo much for sending me this..wait till Dee hears it. Have you heard from Bobby...I'd love to see or hear from him again. Will talk to you soon..say hi to Gus..Love ya!
It's been 40 years, but I still vividly recall this commercial, although I don't remember the little Dave Clark 5 coda at the very end. Incidentally, the reason Crest, Colgate and Pepsodent are still in business, and this brand isn't is because it tasted awful, and left a burning sensation in your mouth. Not one of my fonder childhood memories.
I used to brush my teeth with this stuff. Now I use another decay preventing dentifrice. Does anyone else do this too? I find it hard to believe I'm the only one, gosh.
I hated Macleans toothpaste it burned my mouth !!!

An excellent toothpaste. Not sure if it's still available in the US.
Thanks for posting.
