  • @Mutterjunge The gaming performance of the GT 525M is similar to the GT 425M as the clock rate differs only by 7%. Therefore, the gaming performance of the GT 525M is sufficient for medium detail settings in modern games like Battlefield Bad Company 2. Less demanding games should run in high detail settings. The best resolution to choose is about 1360x768 due to the limited performance. Benchmarks and comparison charts on the 3D performance can be found below (as soon as we collect benchmarks)

  • @Mutterjunge The NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M is a fast mid-range laptop graphics card and successor to the GeForce GT 425M. It is based on the GF108 core, which is related to the Fermi architecture. Therefore, it supports DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0. Compared to the GT 425M the clock rates were increased by 7 percent.

A novelty of the GF104/106/108 chips is the support of Bitstream HD Audio (Blu-Ray) output via HDMI. Alike the Radeon HD 5730, the GT 525M can transfer Dolby True HD and DTS-HD bitstre

  • I'm going to get this same one with a 2nd Gen i7 and 8gb ram. Is this a reliable computer? And does the 525M run most games well?

  • nice video :) my laptop is inspiron dell but it has almost the same specs as urs. Now im confident to play this game with my gt 525m. However, the trouble is everytime when im running an intensive game, i've to lift my laptop to allow more cooling space for the underside in order to solve sudden fps drop, and im thinking about buying a cooling pad. im just wondering whether u have experienced sudden fps drop on ur lap?

  • want to download this game, someone has?

  • price over really good performance you guys should check gateway fx series believe me you will feel the diffrence compared to dell. Gateway FX is better Than Dell XPS.

  • how do you overclock?

  • turn v sync off :(

  • i have a computer similar to this, does it look better than the ps3/xbox version?

  • Is it worth getting the Nvidia 540m 2gb? I'm planning to use it for gaming on the Dell XPS 15

  • would it make a difference if i bought the i7 version?

  • hey i got a dell xps 15 with a intel dual core i5 2410m 2.33ghz-2.90ghz on turbo processor and 4gb ram with the same graphics card... it seems to run crysis on medium settings well but on high it gets a bit squirrely... any advice?? my pc is just as powerfull as yours....?! would it run battlefield?

  • @FISHmann100 i have the exact same laptop but with 2gb 540m graphics card and its way stronger than the processor in this vid dude

  • @FISHmann100 yes, it would definitely run battlefield fluently, not sure about Crysis.

  • @Kristofferas89

Turbo boost is automatic. There should be a driver already installed for it and i think dell has a turbo-boost monitor under its drivers and download. Btw, you should realize how turbo boost works: it turns off other cores and over clocks one core to balance out power/heat. So when turbo-boost is on, you may be running with only single core which is good for games, but you wont be running on a 3.30GHz on all 4 cores.

  • Well I am pleased to hear that but i will still recommend you to buy a dell cuz it is meant for gaming especially the dell XPS

  • Your video just made me happy... for some time I've been planning on buying the Toshiba Portege R835-P70 since it really just kicks ass in every way, including pricem, and a plus, it has gaming capabilities. But then I read on the Cnet review that the laptop really isn't well suited for games. I found that sad. Then I stumbled onto your video and saw that your laptop had the same gaming specs including the i3 processor... and you can run BBC2 on HIGH settings. Wow. GREAT :) Im overjoyed

  • This video is the whole reason I purchased a Samsung RC512, it has the same exact specs except for an i7 and 6GB of DDR3 memory. Funny thing is, even with update graphics drivers and the main GPU set to the 525m, I can't even get 10fps in this game on low settings. Same goes for any other games I throw at it. Starcraft II gets about 15fps on low settings, while there's a video on here that shows it running at 30fpson HIGH settings. fml.

  • @StrokerSi i feel sorry for u (no joke) maybe its your laptop OP corrupt maybe its not your laptop ? it could be any ways am getting the xps 15 woot!

  • @StrokerSi hey. i have the same laptop similar issue. did you ever resolve the problem.

  • @maxpain45678 No man.. sorry. I actually RMA'd today. I'm unbelievably pissed. I remember back in the day when you bought something, it would work.

  • @maxpain45678 Nope.. I just RMA'd it and never looked back.

  • @StrokerSi hey. did u manage to get a feedback from samsung about possible defected hardwares or cooling issues with ur laptop. coz i got the same gpu, but a quite much weaker cpu-i3 than urs. and the only issue ive is sudden fps drop but i solve it by allowing the underside of my laptop more cooling space, and it runs starcraft 2 30+ fps on ultra inc vsync except reflection off aa off on 1360x768. so ur issue must be related samsung. hope this helps.

  • are the speakers of this laptop good?

  • Do you love your xps15 as much as I love mine? Also when did you get yours, mine is the base unit and it comes with i5 2.3Ghz with boost up to 2.9Ghz.

  • @oflaherty117

How do you use Turbo boost. is there a button or do you have to install a boost driver for it???

Im getting mine xps 17 with i7 2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.30 GHz cant w8 for it :)

  • You have all of those games on your xps and it still runs good?

  • even for an i3 processor, this laptop kicks some serious ass.

  • i have this laptop but i cant play battlefield 2 cuz i cant controle it with the laptops mouse and cant play with the xbox controller on it.can anyone give me a solution :D and its an awesome laptop :D

  • @ARK123987 When you say you can't control it with the laptop's mouse, do you mean the track pad? If you mean track pad, then plug a mouse in. You can't play aim while moving on a track pad. If you don't mean track pad, then I can't help you.

  • Is 540m better than the 525m? Cuz I was thinking to take a laptop with a 17.3" that has a 525m instead of buying a laptop which is 15.6"and has 540m, cuz I though that having a bigger screen would give better look on the HD movies and games too.

  • @TrendyhendyPD

    You'd be surprised.....

  • @hogletpiglet ...Lol, re-read my comment.. it's okay, but not exactly smart and there isn't really anything "hardcore" about it...

  • Lol funny how today I just ordered the exact same comp with 2g i3

  • @Deathmagnetc93 sorry but no

  • mmm i have a question if my computer have i3 2310m ram 2 gb and intel hd graphics 3000 will run this game?

  • @deathmagnetc92

    It can run.

  • vsync on high settings with fraps on 30FPS is just Bullshit

  • I meant gts450 below, sorry.

  • I'm calling bullshit on these videos, created to market the hardware.

Sorry, I'm not buying that this midrange mobile card and an i3 can run these dx11 games at high running 720p resolution.

I wouldn't even compare this mobile card to a gts550 in a desktop which would struggle with everything set to high in HD.

  • hey dude make a vid of cod4 and cod5

  • is 525m better than radeon 5650?

  • @deterrentolive2 Nope.

  • @deterrentolive2 It is slightly better. Cos especially in games you have it optimized mostly for nvidia cards. But that's not so big difference

  • @deterrentolive2 5650 looks better to me

  • @deterrentolive2 no, a geforce 540 is a little bit faster then the radeon 5650

  • Do you have the 1080p screen?

  • show some multiplayer gameplay in your videos bfbb2, crysis 2 and ac:b. Try run some games like fallout new vegas (on the strip at night), mass effect 1 or 2, starcraft 2, final fantasy x1 and xiv Thanks for sharing your videos.

  • @LucasA84 fallout New vegas on the strip at night runs smoothly with full settings high (40~50 fps, AAx2) im having this vidcard and a i5 2.3 proccessor!

  • thanks a lot for the videos

i'm about to buy a notebook and was not sure about the specs

now i do know that i need to get this dell

  • @ericogto your welcome, check my other videos, and more coming soon, very soon

  • Nice man !!

  • Have you tried overclocking this card?

  • @Sinister0212561825 no, why? did you do it?

  • @Duradurax

I just wanted to see how much of a performance gain there is when you overclock this card :) BTW, nice FPS with the settings turned up!

  • @Duradurax

wow, i thought 4gb ram, intel core i3 2.10GHz, nvidia gt 525m sucks, but this is amazing...

    im gonna buy a laptop...

Intel Core i7-2630QM "Sandy Bridge", 4 mag, 2.9GHz turbo, 6MB

    8GB 1333MHz DDR3

    HDD 640GB

    nVidia GeForce GT 525M 1GB DDR3

what do you think about it?

  • @Sinister0212561825 Overclocking isn't the smartest thing to do, never overclock higher then 10% otherwise you'll start frying your hardware..

  • wow nice
