Simply set all pots on the amp at max. and control through your guitar.

It's a combination of great sustaining guitar...yamaha sg imho is the best for this things..and a quite loud boogie..the amp is just behind him...look the direction when he turn for sustaining note..well...the amp is about 7 - 8 metres in that direction!

I have to agree, Santana on the Yamaha is the classic tone, just listen to the 1976 performance of Europa!  So many great players have "modernized" their gear to the detrement of their tone, it really puzzles me!
