I thought I already replied to this. Anyways, I'll repeat that here, for other's who have been asking the same thing.

The "desk" with the photos and other things (in the video from 0:00-0:40) was one single 3000x9000 image, which I put together in Photoshop. So essentially I had to deal with only one object in AE. This layer was kept stationary, and a camera (one of those standard 35mm configurations you'd find in AE) moves over it.

In addition to choosing your keyframes, I'm sure you should have realized that you can control the motion as a graph in the timeline. So, control your x and y positions and speeds such that the motion is smooth -- the camera goes around in a bezier-smoothed path, it slows down and picks up speed gradually without jerks etc.

Finally, turn on motion blur for your layer. That makes a big difference.
