Hahaha oye man si sabes tanto español apuesto a que no puedes traducir mi comentario yo hablo el español con muuuuucha fluides jeje ademas apuesto a que se mas español que tu el idioma español es mas facil de todos
@nietsmmar2, no, it's YO. Me means "mnie", which doesn't exist in English, but in Polish or other language based on Latina, which has got terms to change nouns. For example: Kto? Co? Ja; Kogo? Czego? Mnie; Komu? Czemu? Mi etc.
It's interesting that there was a merger of te amo and te quiero.
In Latin te quaero meant I ask you. Te amo was Latin for both I love you, and I fall in love TO you, and also the verb for indicating a tendency. Amicus meus amat ludere - My friend loves to play. Also, since the word order in Latin was and is more flexible than the modern romance languages, I could say: Amicus amat meus ludere; meus amat amicus ludere; meus amicus ludere amat.
ok, i have a question. what is the difference between American spanish and European spanish. is it the same as that between American and British english? is it just the accent or are there significant differences?
@anitta199 OMG! i was about to ask the exact same question aha! ...I've being trying to learn Spanish for the past year now an I've also noticed significant differences between the dialects....i think it's just like American English and British English SAME language but different accents and ways of pronouncing certain words.....but personally I'm trying to learn the Spanish from Latin America because i wanna visit that part of the world :)
@anitta199 Well, mmm you can't talk about Spanish from Latin America, because there are a lot of accents here. But no it's not as in the U.K and the U.S.A. Actually, our orthography is the same, and maybe the phonetics changes a bit, because Spaniards say the "z" and the "c" sounds, as a english "th" in the word "thought". The rest is practically the accent, some expressions, and the speed. In fact I consider Argentinian Spanish less alike my accent (Colombian) than the Spaniards' accent.
Yo opino que la frase "Te Amo" se usa cuando una pareja a penas está empezando una relación; especialmete en los adolescentes. Y... también cuando hay problemas de infidelidad, se usa "Te Amo" para convencer a la otra mitad de que el sentimiento es verdadero.
Y por supuesto, en las telenovelas escucharás esa frase repetidamente para darle un poco de drama al asunto.
@SpainMallorca1 unfortunately most spanish speakers are in the Americas...and it's a different dialect...i prefer teahers that just teach Latin America spanish...without that lisp sound on the c for example.....hice.....HiTHe...sounds funny
@chromedreamz Ridiculous, in Spain we learn British English and I believe that in almost the whole Europe, why are they going to learn Spanish of latinoamérica in England or any Europa's part? If at least there was only one, but one does not speak equally in Mexico that either in Cuba or in Argentina, each one learns the language as he likes it
I do notice it. Sometimes it drives me crazy when a radio anchor speaks. The inhalations can drive me to distraction. You won't hear the inhalations from a well trained speaker.
This is one of those situations where it depends where you come from. In Spain, both of these have the meaning 'I love you' although you could use 'te quiero' for your dog, or your Mum, but 'te amo' you can only use for your romantic significant other. Talking to some South American friends, there is more a feeling of 'I like you' with 'te quiero', but I can tell you that this is not the case in Spain!
My Spanish is learned in Spain. I am from London England,
@nietsmmar2 latin america in general dont pronounce the C and Z like people from spain and my country, im from equatorial guinea the only african country that speaks spanish, we kinda talk like people from spain cuz we got our independence from them on October 12 1968, i was raised in spain and now i live in the states....
@metal87power what are we talking about man..cuase im completly lost, im looking at the comments to see if i replied on one of your comments and cant find anything...
is long and slow practice for you my friends who speak english , i will help in something this teacher doesnt know . look : when we say "el" we say it with a typical accent can be "él" but only in the pronunciation , in the wrighting "él" is more advanced in some terms yo will learn , i will help you sometimes because i know the spanish (my first language) and i know the english (the second) buy to all of you : )
at the spanish language you just have to look at the end of a noun.. if it ends with -a like: comida it's feminine la comida because of -a it has to be feminin if it ends with -o it's masculine.. like: fuego el fuego because of the -o it has to be masculine.. yes..there are some exceptions but not so much..and you can learn it with 1 hint: if a nound ends with -ma you have to watch out..like: idioma el idioma so it's masculine olthough -a =))
Thanks, I see you already have problems typing english and I would hate to hear how you speak. "I wish you have a lot of problems" that doesn't even make sense you idot.
What a very odd position to take, rnbrip. Why do you say Spanish is "the dumbest language..." Language is a utility to communicate. Naturally 500 000 000 would disagree with you. Now that`s a lot of people. And it would be a far more useful language to learn than, perhaps, German, or Italian, or even a language like Chinese. Fine - more people speak Chinese than any other language : But they are all in China. Spanish - like English - is spoken in many parts of the world.
a spanish country? there is only one spanish country haha. but anyway, all of the romance languages have tricky conjugations. spanish grammar is much more difficult than english grammar
I wish to disagree with you. I think the conjugations in Spanish are very useful. They allow you to omit the pronoun in the sentence. Also, conjugations make you think more deeply about what you want to say. This makes it so that what you say is more concise and articulate. Conjugation is far from stupid and usless.
Te amo is for your girl/boyfriend or your wife/husband, Te quiero is for your family and friends. Te amo is a very strong phrase in Spanish, it suggests that you are in love with those person. Also you can't say "yo amo las hamburguesas"; to say you love something, you may use, "me encanta", for example "me encantan las hamburguesas", o "me encantan las rosas".

I don not why to learn Spanish you have to teach it in English, instead the English lesson are given in English. That is racism....jajaja...
