@ 0:12 one can see March Mountain & March tower. I used to ride a bike & later on, a pick up truck to such mountain before homes were built on it. I was stationed there from '82-'89 @ 22CES. I flew 11 hrs as a student pilot in Cessnas & Grummans @ MAFB Aero Club; Fred Zolts was president. I also flew & 2Door (Adorador) & a Capt. from Norton AFB whose name was Ian; he used to ride a bike to MAFB. I have unforgettable memories of MAFB.
Yep... Sure is March ARB (Air Reserve Base now). The T-34's are from the Aero Club and guess what? In the vidoes, your looking at Mr. Zoltz flying the lead.
Interesting fact... did you know that they named a VFR check point after Fred? Called "Zoltz".
It's a small world. Can you please do me a favor and say hello to Mr. Zoltz for me? Maybe he might remember me. I was doing fine with my flying lessons (11hrs) but then I bought a new vehicle and it made it difficult to pay for such lessons; then I got orders to PCS to RAF Upper Heyford, UK; that's why I did not continue flying. Back then we flew to Avalon Island; I think it is 26 miles from the California coast; I have several pictures from that trip. Jose M. Pulido
