In Alabama, only Interstates can be signed at 70 m.p.h. or better. Corridor X is technically a U.S. highway (U.S. 78), not an Interstate (it's a future Interstate highway). When it's completed, I'm sure ALDOT will bump the speed limit up to 70 m.p.h. Future I-22/U.S. 78 in Mississippi is signed at 70 m.p.h., due to the way their law is written.
Of course you ignored it! :D Those trees were damn close on some of the backroads, but wait until my northwoods video I have planned for either the second week in may or this weekend, the pine trees really look you in the eye!
Thanks. Very helpful. I need to drive this tomorrow (in the reverse direction) and I wasn't sure how far east future I-22 extended.

@SteveJBD
You're welcome. I have Corridor X West [HD] video available, too.

The first part of the video is all new to me. I've not more that a mile north of the gulf in years.

That is a beautiful stretch of road there. Is there a prospective completion date yet?

@KEKInc
Yeah, it is.
I'd heard 2012, but that could change.

@ScrewdUPClickV2
Yeah, the highway does look good.
Future I-22 near Graysville (Old U.S. 78) has an AADT of about 17,320.
Bryant5493 1 year ago
@Bryant5493 six lanes for 17,320 AADT?

@aswchris
Yeah, according to ALDOT's website, if I looked at it right.
Bryant5493 1 year ago
Why did they choose 65 as the speed limit? Why not round it up to 70MPH?

Nice vid and good road quality and road markings.
So definitively good for an American (future) freeway.
wimpie25 1 year ago
@wimpie25
Yeah, this freeway's got some of the best road marking of any freeway I've seen.
Bryant5493 1 year ago
They did a great job with the freeway section, interesting backroads, thumbs up!
Freewayjim 1 year ago
@Freewayjim
Indeed, they (ALDOT) did.
Yeah, those trees were pretty close on that backroad.
Thanks.
