The problem with american politics is that your so fucking narrowminded you never take a look across borders or seas... since there are allready anumber of state run health care programs in other countries it's not that hard to find actal facts about how well they work.... and deeper analysis than michael moor provides...

I believe anyone who would actually research for example our swedish system would find that it has its flaws but generally works well and is cheaper than free market insurance

I like knowing that if I can't afford Fedex or UPS I can still go to the good ol' Post Office to send a letter. If Fedex, UPS and USPS can all live in harmony (and make each other better i might add) then so can private insurance and a public insurance plan. If you think Fedex or UPS is expensive now, what if the post office wasn't there to compete?

You are a complete moron. If the USPS did not have a government-sanctioned monopoly, we would have more choices, more efficiency and a pro-consumer system. Private carriers are required by law to charge twice as much. If you think saying, "hey, the post office seems to be working! why not let the government control something as complex as my healthcare" is going to help Obama and his plans for govt takeover of healthcare, keep saying it!  It's totally idiotic.

My point is that there are plenty of examples where public and private enterprises coexist often making both better (public and private universities is another example). Hyperbolic rhetoric ("gov't takeover") intended to scare people into preserving the status quo is unfortunate considering the widely acknowledged belief (on the right & left) that the status quo is unsustainable. Furthermore, if your position is so credible why do you have to resort to name calling?

Despite this larger role of LOCAL govt compared to the absolute FEDERAL role in Obama's healthcare takeover, many would say that public schools are still vastly underperforming.

Don't know about anyone else's DMV, but my local branch is pretty darn responsive on the rare occasions their online services aren't enough. I haven't waited more than 15 minutes a visit since 1994.

obamas health plan will raise taxes on people who create jobs, it will raise private insurance costs and force people to a public option with long wait times, it costs over a trillion dollars in spending, it will increase taxes on small businesses and force these businesses to layoff workers.

I pray every night that the republicans will care for the people instead of insurance company's who keep adding more to cost & then saying no to a child with a 60% chance to live if she has a treatment saying 60% isn't good enough allowing her to die are insurance co. in your pockets sounds it when repubs say Lewin group reported this lewin says that Lewin group is united health care an insurance company who was taken to court & had to pay over 400 million to people they changed paper work on!
