Wow, thanks for posting this. My grandfather played guitar regularly with Percy Kirby in the 1930s and 1940s and used to tell me how much he thought of Kirby's playing. I have a marvelous photo of them playing on a boat bound for Europe in 1939. I had never heard Kirby until now. Thank you!
Lo and behold, Percy finally gives the secret why I've been trying to duplicate his playing all my life and can't. To jam like that you gotta know some strange scales and modes. IF you don't believe me, try playing in the key of X!
