@koasterkav yes,it's a pre-recorded message that plays as the ride starts.Some people treat this as a normal carousel,without realising that the out side horses do go very fast and its quite a job to hold on!

@anglerfly Derby Racer 1958 One of only three in the world, the ride is essentially a large carousel of 56 horses in four rows, the outside row being the fastest.

@anglerfly A Derby Racer is basically a Carousel on steroids. It's meant to replicate as closely as possible to the feel of being in a horse race. A Derby Racer is very fast, the horses do jump but only slightly, but they do move forwards and backwards to give that feeling of moving back and fourth in a pack of horses. There's this one in England, a Derby Racer at Cedar Point in Sanducky, OH, and I do believe there's one at Playland Park in Rye, NY. I believe Mesmoland has a video of this one.
