  • fantastic parade i was in the 1189 squadron AIR TRAINING CORPS portsmouth between 1970 to 1975

  • Got to love that pipe band doing the steamboat - puts all your shitty English brass whistle bands to shame.

  • @MightyBroomOfJustice English? its mixed. You have Northern Irish and Welsh cap badges in it two. They were actually playing Killaloe quick march of the Royal Irish Regiment (although it does sound better on the pipes) Flute bands are very popular(as too are pipes and accordion bands) in Northern Ireland and we like the English as much as the Scots do

  • OMFG Im in the Royal Marine Cadets lot... who ever filmed this you did a great job.... lol at one of my cadets are slow, and out of pace...

  • Where are the church LADS brigade the largest group in the ealy formation of ARMY cadets

  • whats the name of the song the ccf started off to?

  • I'm from the Judd School CCF RAF Contingent (2nd best in the UK) :D and being able to take part in this was awesome :D shame we couldnt bring along everyone so only the air squadron trophy went :) buckingham palace was a massive rave and the sandwiches rocked lol

  • I was there, in the air cadet contingent in the band. AMAZING!!!!! We were told not to stop playing when the Red Arrows went over. Not going to happen, we're Air Cadets. Buckingham Palace wasn't too shabby either

  • Reference my last, I think it's the GSM she gives an eyefull

  • Lol at the woman that checks out that Warrant Officer at @5.44. She -fairly- gives him an eye full.

  • all cadets very smart and the bands all were very good :)

  • First time i have seen the ACF do marching with arms shoulder height.

  • @BOB199421 Obviously don't see us enough!

  • What pieces of music are used? Only recognise the Holyrood March used by the RAF guys.

  • @MachiavellianHeir - The SCC step off with "Mechanised Infantry"

  • ACF.

  • Magic. Did something similar when I was their age. When we marched past I was so overcome with emotion. Even though my arms and legs were aching I felt thrilled, overjoyed and in awe. I was so ecstatic. I'll never forget it. Being a cadet never leaves you. As a nation I feel we should do this more often - celebrate our youth, celebrate their achievements and celebrate our Armed Forces. Perhaps make it compulsory for young people at school and university to attend. Make it part of the curriculum.

  • only video on you tube to have us marching to killaloe

  • And not ONE mention of this great event by the BBC!

  • What a fantastic spectacle! My son and daughter were pipers with the Massed Cadet Pipe Band (Scotland & Northern Ireland Regional ATC Pipe Band). The drill, dress and deportment of the cadets and bandsmen from all branches of the services on parade were a credit to Britain and I'm so proud of you all.

  • For whoever's interested, the 6/8 Marches the Massed Cadet Pipe Band are playing from the beginning on the clip are:-

The Steam Boat (aka The Hills of Caithness)

    The Bugle Horn

    Bonnie Dundee

Queen Elizabeth's March (The Queen Mother)

  • @PSP123smo its one of the 6/8s not sure which 1 u mean but its either steam boat, bonnie dundee or bugle horn...

  • As an Officer in the RAF VR(T) I'll probably get lynched for saying that the Sea Cadet Corps have the best uniform for parades, and always look the smartest.

  • @PhoenixDaCat thank you

  • @PhoenixDaCat We were just saying the same thing. Though I am a bit biased, my other half is a Sea Cadet Instructor!

  • @PhoenixDaCat - Thank you Sir :) You guys looked smart too!

  • hoorah
