During the 1990s, Albano shed 150 pounds (70 kg) following a health scare. In May 2005, Albano suffered a heart attack, but later recovered. Albano was sent home from the hospital and again began watching his health. However on October 14, 2009, he died in his sleep at age 76.[17] He was survived by his wife Geri, four children and 14 grandchildren. He was buried in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Capt. Lou was like Bobby Heenan (Grand Wizard and Classy Freddy also); the only managers that truly could outperform their superstars wrestlers. A founding father of the Rock -N- Wrestling Era, he was just as important as Hulk Hogan,Rowdy,Andre,etc. in that amazingly creative and productive era in wrestling. An era that probably will never be outshined by any other era you could say Attitude Era,etc...RIP Captain! You are a real icon and legend!

i met him outside the old dc armory , me and my friend had got thrown out of the car show and were standing outside this door and out came capt lou,,,,we walked with him to a white lincoln i think, may of been a caddy, he pinched my cheek, gave me a slap said stay out of trouble and smiled, it ws a good day, r.i.p. captian

there never has been and NEVER WILL BE ANOTHER like him.though i never met him i am very saddened.i will from now on on his birthday and on the day of his death DO THE MARIO and play through every super mario game on the original nintendo and super nintendo.i hope to one day pay my respects at his grave site.
