for 1 i have owned three 4th gen Z28s one 4th gen trans am two 2nd gen trans ams never had a problem for 2nd my mom had 79 my dad built a 68 camaro that ran 9s in the 70s and 80s and was in 74 chevy power magazine a verry good freind has a mint 69 rs so yea with all thouse bolt ons your car should do i know a bit more than you think and i do know a little bit about camaros
@vprtech It has a Comp Cam: 276HR10. I have 1.6 rockers so it's Intake .535 in / Exhaust .544 in. Compression is 9:5:1 due to the stock pistons sitting around .020 in the hole.
Sounds great man! All you need now is a good converter matched with the cam and gears and you're good. It's amazing the difference a converter makes well worth the extra $.
@c0olj Lt1's are easier to tune, (Plug and play) They have a MUCH better intake design from the factory then the L98 and for the most parts are pretty easy to make good numbers. Granted if you were to upgrade the TPI setup(which is quite expensive) then it can run damn good as well. I will say TPI engines and the LT1/L99 look better than an LS engine anyday. If you were stating modded L98 vs. stock LT1 then yea I would hope your faster....
@c0olj Wasn't trying to be a jerk either. I own an 89' Camaro 357/ T-56 and a Corvette getting an LTx transplant currently. I love both engine generations. LS's are nice but WAY TOO OVERPRICED! 2k for an LS1? HAHA
@chevellenut1968 no the body style is ugly as fuck was one of the worst camaros ever made ask someone who owns a 60's, 70's 80's or 2009 or newer 90's camaros were shitty and something always went wrong in them.
@actionshark that makes no sense whats so ever. the material of the block has nothing to do with the sound of the engine. Exhaust, manifolds, cam, heads.....those all affect the sound of the engine, not the material. lol.
not personally an fan of lopey idle's, i like them more clean sounding with an nice deep rumble. but she did sound good when you opened her up though! how much did you pay for hsr?
Doesn't sound too bad. As soon as it warms up, I'm gonna swap my lifters, throw in my cam and a 3000 stall from midwest converters. Then a tune! About $1000 bucks later, lol. F-body's, gotta love 'em!
Did anone else see the trees move when the Camaro flew by?

@chevellenut1968 - Not trying to be a jerk, but unless the LT1 is modded pretty good, it's not going to be faster.

An L98 would have a more aggressive sound than a late model 4th gen LS1 simply due to the iron block vs aluminum.
