  • brasil sempre

  • Viva México Cabrones

  • Honour to Brazil from Italy, you deserved that victory, the brazilian team was invincible :)

  • i was born in 1970.

  • Soy mexicano. Grande Brasil por haber ganado en México 70. Un abrazo desde México!

  • Italian was a defeat for us but very bitter that Brazil was still invincible and then Italy was exhausted after the 4-3 with Germany

  • uruguay 2 brasil 1. francia 3 brasil 0

  • 5 > 2

  • pele+jairzinho = Ronaldo+rivaldo

the best duo to ever play football....and Ronaldo+zidane in madrid was best also

  • @dmx309 i think garrincha and pele were a better duo

  • Best national football team of history?

My personal classification, not necessarily in order:

Italia 1970, Brazil 1970, Holland 1974, Italia 1982, Maradona 1986 (oops, sorry, Argentina), Brazil 1958 (Garrincha, my God)...

I dont include Brazil 1982 because it was heavily defeated by Italy, yes the final result was 3 -2 but

PAOLOROSSSSI incedibly was wrong with 2 goals (see again the match and you will see) and Socrates goal was due to a very big mistake of Zoff

  • What would have happened if Brazil played a match 2 days before the final and with 30 minutes of overtime, with Italy with 1 day more of rest, and no overtime? Hinshallah

  • Gerson and Carlos Alberto...doubt we'll ever see goals as good as those again

  • Game back than was TOO slow. Boring indeed. Now even median players run way faster.

  • If they had access to the equipment, physical prepare and tecnology of these days they would pretty much destroy everybody else the same way they did in 1970. Sure, they would have to play it faster and they would probably have to dribble more, but they would still win.Jairzinho and Rivelino played in their clubs always marked by at least one other player, they knew how to handle rough games. And the defense wasn't that bad, Felix was able to stop the english team and the italians.

  • Just sat here watching it with my grandad and we agreed that the football being played was probably the best ever, just simply quality.

  • No chance for Italy in that game!

They were playing against the best national squad ever built!!!

  • @jjaimefilho yes i totaly agree

  • @jjaimefilho Italy was just tired after the stressing semi final with Germany. 4-1 was unreal.

  • This Brazil team was out of this world, maybe the best in history

  • @Eaglesfanmd

They are the best team ever.

  • Brazil contra Mexico

  • Brasil are the most successful team and the only team to qualify every world cup

  • THe Brazilian team was just too good...

  • some countries are great at some sports but when it comes to football ,, this is it brazil are the ones who own it ,, for spain to beat brazil they gonna have to keep the way they are now for more 50 years , until they have books and books full of trophies like brazil, , the only team to go to all world cups, 7 finals, 5 world cups, 142 months in first in the ranking, worst in the ranking 6th, its amazing, good luck spain u are just jealous, u will never be as good as brazil

  • @mr10julio10 dude they have the right to be happy and enjoy their good moments as does any other country, who said anything about spain being better than brasil when italy or germany or argentina are not?????

  • braz is the king of football nobody else, just because spain won a world cup lol u cant even compare the worst team brazil ever had to the spanish team, brazil is the only team that never have ups and downs they always have ups, while other have downs like italy winning the world cup in 2006 and come to 2010 and go out in the first round, brazil always gets to quarter finals at least.... they are simply the best!!

  • que equipazo brasil !! una verdadera maquina . yo no entiendo xq tanta enemistad entre brasileros y argentina . sabiendo que entre los 2 le dieron vida al futbol que vemos y nos gusta !

  • Solo Gordon Banks poteva opporsi a quel colpo di testa...

  • Dunno...football back in the days was sooooo different. Did you see how everyone run freely? Plus did not see elaborated footie...only corpulent players and hard shooting...dunno I see it as innocent football. Anyways they were awesome and is impossible to compare this team to Spain.

  • Brasil is Brasil. Spain is Spain. Congratz Spain for being a world champion. but Brazil is the best in all history

  • it was held in mexico the best world cup host in history

  • if i wanted to see italy lose to any team it would have to be a great team, and this was of course one of the greatest brazilian teams there was, some people argue 1970 brazil or 1982 brazil? not too sure. but either way we played brazil at its finest, won 1 and lost the other. two legendary teams

  • they wern't that good back then. that brazil team would struggle to make the last 16 now. most teams couldnt defend properly back then and the game was so slow. most teams are well organized now and the players are athletes. still, nice to watch.

  • You just can't beat the legendary Ken Wolstenholmes commentary!

  • I will never forget that Sunday afternoon in 1970. Hundreds of baloons in the skies of Brazil, fire works, and millions of Brazilians living the happiest day ever!!!

  • i am wondering about pele... why did he only play till he was 29 ... why wasnt he at wc 1974 ... i mean 33 yrs isn't old as well ... specially not for pele

  • Brasil = best team ever

    Germany = best european team

  • @RechteHandDerHoelle

    Germany vs Spain 2-3

    Netherlands vs Brasil 2-1

    do you see the mistake

  • Italy had a good team back in 1970. Its stars were Gigi Riva and Gianni Rivera. But the Brazilian team was just unbeatable. It didn´t have a good defence, except for its right half, team captain Carlos Alberto, who was an excellent player. But Brazil's most distinctive feature was its unforgettable line of forwards: Jairzinho, Gerson, Tostao, Pele and Rivelino. The best I've ever seen!

  • Pele comes across as unselfish .. willing to pass and create opportunities for others to score.

  • @adimamu cristiano ronaldo could learn something from him

  • A MAIOR SELEÇAO DA HISTORIA DAS COPAS DO MUNDO, VIVA O BRASIIIIIIIL !

  • The kind of stuff that can turn your whole day around :)

  • Amazing

  • Pele one of the best players ever :)

  • This was when soccer balls looked like soccer balls, and I don't hear those damn loud annoying horns that have ruined the game...

  • @TheBrassHole fuckin AMEN to that!

  • I hope this years final would be even half as good as '70. So far, however, I don't hold my breath.

  • Back in these days there was no actors or divers

  • y do the italians just wait there instaed of going in for the tackle, terrible defending

  • WOW BRASIL, BRESIL, BRAZIL THERE IS NO ONE LIKE YOU. CRY ARGENTINA, GERMANY, ITALIA. WE ARE THE BEST EVER. I JUST LOVE MY COUNTRY LETS GO BRASIL 2010 ONCE AGAIN!!!!!! I WISH ALL THE BEST FOR ENGLAND TOMORROW COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!!

  • Cameramen behind the goal. I wouldn't sit there.

  • probably one of the greatest football teams ever. Brazil was awesome.

  • The 1970 Brazil side will live on in football forever, the last goal personified their legendary status. To win 3 World cups in such a way, with your captain smashing the winner. Brazil own the World Cup, they own football.

  • This Brazil is legend.

    This match is legend.

    This WC is legend.

    Pele is above legend.

  • Delightful foootball! :)

  • The 70 Brazil team might have been the greatest but Maradona carried the team by himself in 1986

  • @4august By the hand of god and drugs?!...give me a break..

  • I'm not even a soccer / football man, I prefer rugby. But I tell you what, I'll always watch a game on TV if Brazil is playing. World cup results aside, their team is one of kind.

  • Brazil is the best country in soccer. IN time some of the African Nations might come up, but really Brazil is the best and makes the most entertaining football for us to watch.

  • Truly magnificent football, but you have to agree THIS particular commentary is just perfection....delightful !

  • pinches brasileños son lo mejor del futbol y en esos tiempos mas

  • Brazil by far the best soccer country in the world

  • @davidschilling agree with u dude

  • Gebson goal was amazing

  • wonderful

  • best world cup final

  • football-60-70.centerblog (.net)

  • @jazzfunk61 No, best world cup ever

  • Gerson's a dead-ringer for the actor James Caan.

  • gerson doesn't get enough credit in my opinion...his goal is as electric as alberto's for me and the service on the jairzinho goal is unreal.

those who doubt or don't understand pele's magnitude need only watch this clip, the man is involved in every highlight. best player on the best team ever.

  • pele the best ever!!!!

  • @mostrochango No way! Brasil was an amazing team. Maradona way better.

  • @villapierre

Maradona is not even close to Pelé. He wishes!!!

  • @LudiCavalcanti also agree with you man.

  • @villapierre l notice you're Italian, I wonder if that's got anything to do with it.

  • @JanineRobin I think this Brasil was a greater team than Argentina in 86.

Pelé only played in Santos, in a period when there wasn' t even a Brasilian championship, but many local ones. Maradona beated the invincible Sacchi' s AC Milan in Serie A. Almost on his own. I remember him playing. I saw him.

  • @villapierre Santos won many games against opposition in brazil but the myth that pele never played in europe is wrong they used play the milans alot they were more than exhibition matches. pele told of a story when a defender from milan kicked him so much that when pele scored he took the ball to the defender and told him to take it to his mama and tell her "thats from the king" hence the puma kings. so pele is the king maradona was brilliant in 86 but pele was the king for 12 years.

  • no doubt all the brazilian attributes where seen in this game. Truly a real life dream team.

  • The ball looked so heavy back then.

  • @danjosimo3000

lol the ball was significantly heavier, especially in comparison with the balls they r producing now

  • the best team of all time!

  • seems Kazakhstan would win these teams it they played nowadays, the football is totally different now. but anyway respect to Brazil, they deserved the world cup

  • @lionlinekz

you must be a Kazakjstan supporter then? As you are talking pish lol

  • @lionlinekz The techniques are more developed now, players looks more flashy and fitness level is higher thanks to advances in medicines and fitness techniques but the game is still very similar, 1970s brazil would still be one of the best team at any team because their players are as good as any where it counts

  • I'm from England and when I watch Brazil 1970, I realise I'm watching the greatest football team ever.

  • @JanineRobin and that will ever live

  • Great sides

  • Brazil 1970, the best team in football history.

  • @escala1985 You love hyperboles don't you?

  • @stogies3 The Brazil team in 1970 was once best football team in the world and I don't lie, any narrator think the same.

    Five Cups,

nice football, no dirty game as Italy.

  • @escala1985 ...was once...or one of the best.

BTW imho the italian team was not up to par,it was like

adults playing against kids(and i agree the kids played dirty

as they always do)A much better and even game was

Brazil-Hungary 1966 there the brazilian side didn't play

against kids nor did Garrincha get away with his tricks:))

And yes the 2nd hungarian goal is better than any of these,

the 1st one also for that matter.

  • @stogies3 Is "was once the best team".

The players of Brazil 70's team are one thing, because their players are not active anymore,

The selection in this time is different to team today.

However are good players, five trophy win includ the Jules Rimet is a record.

Hungary never been champions in world cup, this team was finalist as Holland, Sweden or Czechoslovakia, but never winner the trophy.

  • @stogies3

adults playing kids? have you watched the game, not highlights but the full 90mins?

until Gerson scored Italy were giving Brazil a very hard game...they were actually the better team in the first-half!

Italy were reigning European Champions and had many great players like Riva, Facchetti and Mazzola

    they deserve respect

  • Even the way Alberto recieves the trophy and holds it aloft is class...

  • @Indul1 Carlos Alberto he had 25.

Has been the captain more young in receive the world cup trophy.

In this time the last Jules Rimet trophy.

  • SHOW DE BOLA!

  • You almost feel bad for Italy. They made it to the final, but no one could touch Brazil in 1970.

  • yeah ive got the whole of this game on video & i agree with floydman, though i still rate van bastens 88 volley as THE greatest goal of all time! albertos is in my top 5 & probably the best team goal ever

  • That 4th goal is probably the greatest goal of all time.

  • THE best World Cup Final of all time. The 4th goal is the greatest World Cup goal of al time in my opinion not just because of Carlos Alberto's killer shot from the right wing, but because of the build up play to the goal- A total of 8 Brazilian players were involved. Pure class.

  • Supersweet moves at 4.00

  • This was such a classical World Cup Final my dad still talks about it

  • The greatest world cup final.

  • got a guy in my office claiming that the bergkamp goal vs. newcastle was better than the fourth brazil goal. does anyone agree?

  • Its a hard one. If you were to imaging Bergkamp was a Brazilian playing in this game and scored the same goal he scored against newcastle then, you gotta give it to the iceberg. As it is, got to be CA, with it being the greatest football game ever to be played in the best world cup ever in the biggest stadia.

  • @armstm Different types of goals. It all depends how you evaluate a goal's greatness. 'Repeatability' is a major factor. Sometimes the brilliant goals in high-profile games are given a higher standing than some world-class goals in lower-profile games simply because of this.

(I think Bergkamp scored a couple of even better goals than the Newcastle one though.)

  • @armstm To illustrate my point - which is better; Baggio vs Czechoslovakia or Atkinson vs Wimbledon. I'd always say the latter, as would most fans I suspect. But which one is talked about more often?

  • Longtime ago. Nice team but slowly level

  • Amazingly, this was the first World Cup final where the team who scored first went on to win. The reverse has only happened twice since - 1974 and 2006.

  • I don't think anyone in Brazil commited suicide after this game.

  • The italians tried to complain in the end as if they had any chance to win. hahaha

  • @MEYERNET

Italy were an excellent side in 1970 with many great players - Facchetti, Riva, Mazzola, Boninsegna. They gave Brazil a hard game until Gerson's goal in the 65th minute. They tired towads the end after playng 120mins against West Germany but Brazil were the best side in the tournament and probably the best side we've ever seen, certainly in attack. But that Italian side deserves respect.

  • @hugodrax71 If they played 120m against the Wessies, it was because they were not competent enough to win. Sorry, this is no excuse. Dont tell me Italy was pwned just because they were tired.

  • @MEYERNET

I didn't say that...I said Brazil was the best side, all I'm saying is that Italy was a very good side (reigning European Champions) but they were unable to maintain a high level of performance in the last 25mins of the final because of extra-time in the semis. But Brazil deserved to win the trophy, no question

  • @MEYERNET : The team in the end is not Italy. hahaha

  • If I had Pele, Rivelino and Tostao in my team, i wouldn't fucking care about defense. No matter how many goals the opponent score, we would always score 3 or 4 more. :D

  • the famous padlock that been broken :)

  • How do you play football........? Well you try to emulate this. I guess.

  • You score against the Brazilians, you only make them angry.

  • @iblob666 Oh nooo :)))

  • @iblob666 Except this year. :(

  • God I love Brazillian foot like this... We haven't a prayer in S Africa 2010 (England).

  • If you don't like this, you don't like football.

The football gods were present this day.

    A beautiful day.

  • @Crustalshift

Love , and agree with, your elegant and so true comments... Just brilliant football indeed.

  • This Brazil side were brilliant. Such skilful dribbling, sublime passing, and great goals.

  • stop the hating peeps,, have to admire great football and this is probably the best brazil side ever.. i dont think any player will be in the same league as jairzinho to score a goal in every game in a world cup for the next 100 years... FACT

  • it almost happened davor suker

  • @dessert57

If a team only defends and doesn't score -- it does not win games...! Think about it. You, my friend, seem to be the true ignorant here.

  • The greatest team in the history of Football: The 1970 World Cup Champions, BRASIL!!!!

OLE, OLE, OLE, OLE, BRASIL!!! BRASIL!!

  • Kudos from Scotland, The Golden Team of 1970 will never be matched!

  • Guadalajara, Mexico is Brazil's second home. Arriba las Chivas!

  • Brazil were a fantastic team who deserved the trophy but respect for Italy 70please

  • the only reason italy scored was beacause felix(goal keeper) wasn't there and ribelino wasn't there to defend

  • His name is RiVelino, bye...

  • Brazil team 1970, best international side ever. No team has come any where near this side since.

  • This Brazil (Mexico '70's) is the best team of soccer to ever touc a football field. No matter what they say. Maybe soccer has evolved, and maybe Kaka is better than Zico or so, but the team... oh they made beautiful music by olaying in a orchestra. We should learn from this style.

  • Gerson was awesome in that game way ahead of Zico and Kaka in their wildest dreams

  • Brazil '82 were a marketing gimick :)

if they were so good why did'nt they get beyond the quarters?

    FORZA ITALIA

  • Re Brazil's 4th goal, absolutely beautiful

  • Width and Depth was used by Brazil to overwhelm the Italian Catenaccio style defence.

  • lol, haha you read it from soccer tactics, yeah they did and it was done excellently.

  • The Beautiful Game is only played by Brazil.

  • the italians were outclassed.

They won a difficult game in semi final against Germany.

  • Thank you, Southstandred, for sharing... joga bonito!

  • It's all because Pele.

  • 4 goal, fantastic

  • sorry, italians....we had to beat your asses in world cup finals.....

    we're 5 times world champions.....

    not because we're lucky.....

  • Brazil's the best, of that there is no doubt.

  • don't worry, we got you back in 1982...I understand that's still very painful in Brazil

  • you won in 1982...sure....

gentilli ripped apart zico's jersey in the penalty area and the referee didn't do shit....

    but it's okay...

we beat you in 1970 (4x1!!!), in 1978, 1994 (2nd world cup we won on you)....

and we still have more world cups than anybody....

while you have asses kicked by egypt and who else??

oh...by BRAZIL!!! 3x0.....plus the 2x0 earlier this year in london....

    sorry....

    maybe next time...

    hahahahahahahaha!!!!

  • You were a great side in 1970 but we gave you a great game until Gerson's goal on 65mins...1978? 3rd place match....1994 you won on pens and Baggio, the player of the tournament was not fit...friendlies and Confederations Cup? they mean nothing...good luck with Dunga, I'm sure he'll lead you to great things...Paolo Rossi sends everyone in Brazil his best wishes

  • matches are 90 minutes long, not 65....and after 90 minutes the score was 4x1!

and by your reasoning only world cup matches should count...

    this is nonsense...

what i know is that we've won 5 world cups (2 on your asses), and our last match was an smashing 3x0 (which we achieved in the 1st half!!!)

    what else do you want???

    paolo rossi???

he's dead and gone...just like toto schillaci in 1990....a pair of lucky shots and he was never heard of before or since...

  • your' shown exactly why so many people take delight when Brazil bomb in a tournament. And the way you celebrated that joke Confederations Cup win was nothing short of embarrassing. Probably because you don't expect to win anything else under Dunga...and yes, only competitve games count. I couldn't give a f*** about any friendly. Now I'm just going to settle down and watch my dvd of the 1982 game in the Sarria - and watch Gentle rip Zico's shirt and Rossi rip up your defence. Salute!

  • By the way, I have a massive respect for your 1970 side...no shame losing to them, the best attacking team ever

  • embarassing is losing to egypt.....

    that's embarassing....

being down 3x0 in the 1st half.....

    that's embarassing.....

people delight when we bomb because that's the only way they have a chance to win anything....

if not the only chance you have is to do like gentili and play dirty.....or like bulgaria in 66 when they almost broke pele's legs....

  • play dirty? like Brazil in 1974 you mean? great 'tackle' by Pereira on Neeskens...Neeskens is still trying to find the lower half of his body in Dortmund's stadium.

Embarrassing is also losing 2-0 to Paraguay who played the second-half with 10 men.

Good luck in South Africa next year...just make sure you avoid FRANCE

I thought it was Portugal who almost broke Pele's legs...

  • no, i mean like tassoti did in '94 when he broke the spaniard's nose.....

  • maybe you mean like Leonardo, also in 94, when he elbowed Ramos in the head and fractured the American's skull

  • while we're having this discussion, something just occured to me......

the last 2 world cups you guys won came just after massive cases of corruption...'82 and '06

    just a coincidence?

not to mention 1934 when mussolini would never let the title leave italy....just like argentina in 78....

  • and there's no corruption in Brazilian football!!!!

  • of course there's corruption in brazil.....

our 2005 championship was notoriously won by a team involved big time in corruption....no questions abouti it....

but world cups??? right after scandals involving italian football??

remember paolo rossi couldn't play for a year right beofre '82??

juventus playing serie B recently because of the moggi-gate???

and right after those big scandals.....BAM!!!! you guys win the world cup......

    hum......quite suspicious.......

  • maybe Mussolini is behind it all....

  • hahahahaha!!!!

just remember to leave a note next time saying when the joke is over and it's time to laugh.....

  • and my last statement is the 4th goal on this video....starting with clodoaldo's play on defense till carlo's alberto's shot.....

    it says it all

  • when I'm in Brazil next I'll let you know...we can continue the discussion over feijoada

  • you gotta come to new york.....

i left rio de janeiro some years ago....

  • @santoro19782 And you think Italy won both '82 and '06 World Cup because they corrupted all the referees or what? I hope you realise how ridiculous that sounds...

  • @Dettkin well....i don't believe in coincidences.....and the last 2 times italy won the world cup there were massive cases of corruption in italian soccer.....

    i might be wrong......but as i said before.....i don't believe in coincidences........
