OBOD and ADF are the largest Druid organizations, aren't they? The difference I believe being that ADF is avowedly Pagan, and considers itself a religion.
I too have spent time in the military being trained in the ways of nuclea warfare and the like. I am getting ready to start the course and hope that it will give some peace of mind in the times to come. This is as wonderful video and it helped me make up my mind to start the course now rather then later.
Hmmm... It's certainly beautifully made, this video, but I share the sentiment that it's basically a large advert for OBOD, rather thanan informational video. That said, how is one to find a balance between outreach and advertising/marketing? It's a difficulty we face in ADO (another Druid group) as well, and I have to admit we haven't actually found a satisfying resolution to the problem -- which is likely why no one knows who we are!
Looked into all this just recently, and am quite interested in the feeling and the messages and the way to look at life thru the lens that society tries to shield from us for some reason. I will slowly try and see if I can begin an order or group in the area I live in, for there seems to be none at present, but should be. The video was edited quite well. As a talented and creative videographer as well, there will be something that comes from inside of me, just down the road a piece, in support.
The OBOD community is why I feel most at home within the spiritual philosophy of Druidry. Thank you, Philip, Dahm, and ALL members and supporters of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids.
Thank you for sharing! This is very interesting to me and it is hard to find exposure on this path in the U.S. (well, besides reading!). I wish we could see more of this in the states. But, great video!
While I did enjoy the video, I often get uncomfortable how these kinds of videos seem like a means of proselitysing, and I think that's a trait that Pagan groups should get out of.
Really enjoyed it Being so far from most of the OBODies, we walk a pretty solitary path, but we are still getting so much out of it. Maybe one day we will be able to travel to one of the camps or rituals. Loved the joyful little dog too!
Brilliant video. Made me long for a return to one of the annual gatherings. Sometimes its tough being 3000 miles away. It is a great introduction indeed.
