  • Rod Stewart was so disrespectful to Ronnie Lane. Ronnie was always the better musician. Bollox to Stewart and God bless Ronnie Lane.

  • I love how peaceful this song sounds

  • My parents got a bar in Stockholm that's named after this song

  • his music will live on . . . thanks Ronnie . . . remember, like he said "it's a short movie folks . . ."

  • God Bless You Ronnie

  • Wherever you are, whatever your circumstances, just let go for a bit and feel the love from this great man.

  • A ridiculously beautiful piece of music, one of my faves. Thank you for posting it. Ronnie was a genius.

  • @trainsurfer

Agreed, Ronnie was indeed a genius, but credit where credit is due, this wonderful piece of music was written by the incredibly talented Charlie Hart!!

  • @shanemacify

    Fair enough!

  • Why do we lose all the talented people to soon. R I P Ronnie and Stevie

  • Thanks Ronnie...bless you.

  • Thanks for posting. One of my favorite albums from Ronnie. Blessed to have seen him perform on many occasions. Through all your works, you live on Ronnie. RIP

  • absolutely lovely

  • It's from One For The Road, recorded in the very hot summer of 1976. The sequence relating to how it was recorded is on The Passing Show dvd. They were up on Ronnie's farm near Bishop's Castle in Shropshire and sat on the hillside above the farm when they recorded it - hence the blackbird warbling away in the background. Just wonderful!

  • A great Sunday morning tune!

  • Harvest Home is a wonderful piece of music. Reminds me of the summer of 1997 that was a very happy time for me! Lots of sunshine, relaxation and repeat playings of this song!

  • "Side two, track two, "Harvest Home," was a number that I wrote for a lady called who died. Her name was Mrs. Caulfield. She lived down the road from my farm, and she died, and it was really weird. It was very hot that summer, extremely hot. It was nighttime, and it got dark. Of course, in the summer it gets dark very late. I went to a pub, and someone told me shed died...

  • ... I couldnt believe it well, I could believe it, but it knocked me about a bit. I came out of the pub and it was dark, and all of the tractors were coming up from the fields with their lights on, and their carts all filled with hay, bringing the harvest home. I was just very choked, and I went home and I wrote "Harvest Home". Yup."

  • @richmorgan Awesome story. Where's it from?

  • @derelict844 I'm unable to post a link but just google: "Side two, track two, "Harvest Home,"

  • That's an incredibly well crafted instrumental. I can imagine this one as soundtrack to some old sea documentary.

  • this is lovely way to spend an cold day, with Mr. Lane. thanks
