people: Messianic = Christian. They both have the same root meaning of Mashiach in Hebrew and Cristos in Greek, "Anointed One". Messianic is simply the Hebrew way of saying a believer in the Anointed One, and Christian is the Greek way of saying it.

Do you realize how many Jews have come to faith because of the existence of Messianic Synagogues? They are biblical. The problem is the Church separated herself from her Jewish roots ages ago, which is contradictory to Paul's advice in Romans. A Jew does not have to become like a Gentile, and vice versa.

Yeshua did not come to make the world Jewish or to convert them to Judaism. If you want to discuss this, we can do it over email and we can discuss the New Covenant for the World, not just Yisrael.

Also, Messianic Judaism has done a lot to point out to the Church her pagan practices that are not biblical. Do you justify the celebration of Easter and Easter bunnies? Or Christmas and Santa Claus? Messianics celebrated the God-ordained feasts (with a messianic and Yeshua-centered perspective, of course).

Galatians 3:28 is true, but when you fill out your medical form, do you still mark down "male"? We are still physically Jews and Gentiles, male & female,but spiritually one in Messiah.

One last thought: My wife and I attended a Spanish speaking congregation. My wife is from Mexico, and the Spanish-speaking congregation is relevant to her culture, she accepted Christ where they spoke Spanish. When she became a believer, no one told her to stop speaking Spanish, etc.

Along the same lines, a messianic synagogue is culturally relevant to the Jew. A Jewish believer doesn't have to give up his culture to become a believer, as he may be told (or feel) in a Gentile church.

I was born Jewish and am a Messianic Jew. It's not that confusing if you think of it as basically being exactly what Jesus was... and all of the disciples... they were Jews who believed in Jesus... as i do. :)
