@fenixx213 Sorry to hear that. It can be difficult finding gaming groups at times and then once you find one, one that will explore away into other systems.
i love ars magica!!! the hard part is getting players. i found it work awsomely for a harry potter game. it has all the feel of harrypotter with the casting of spells and players shouting out the spells it realy comes alive. i wish people would play any other game then D&D.
@MrSaber152 Nice way to incorporate Harry Potter into roleplaying, I can definitely see how that could work well with this system. Thanks for your comments!
I've never been a big fan of Ars Magica.. I suppose I had the same problem with it that a lot of people had with the old World of Darkness. It was entrenched in a lot of lore.
I like that Ars Magica is where the Tremere originated though.
@clackclickbang Yes, there is quite a bit of lore and it can be a bit overwhelming. I too like House Tremere (Tray-mare I think is how you pronounce that one) and almost mentioned it specifically in my video.
@clackclickbang (including clackclickbang here because i think he should not be put off by lore in a game) yes i'm watching things i missed while working a project tonight.
i truly enjoyed playing ars magica. one of my players was inspired by my house rules magic in our d&d campaign and chose to buy and run an ars magica campaign. brilliant stuff. he thought it was quite similar to the house rules. he was right, to my surprise. i admire this game for it's system, but also it's depth.
@23penguins32 Oh I don't mind Ars Magica as a setting particularly, but it's the weight of the lore attached that I struggle with. If I hadn't read as much Vampire as I have, I would no doubt be put off by that too.
@clackclickbang i think the reason ars magica was quite an easy transition for my d&d group was the ever-constant presence of lore in the d&d game. it was and is quite deep in my game. bring your wellies
I've never played Ars Magica but I played a Mage the Ascension campaign for 6 years. I really like that game but there are problems with the magic system but you can do a lot with it. Great description of the game Wyn, I'm a big fan of flaws too, I usually take lots of them in games, gives you more to work with for the character.

Ars Magica is a game I've always heard of, but I don't have any experience with it.
