what i find strange is NAOMI did not post this video as a subliminal message video,someone else did! and it was posted in 2009, and the one on fuzzymemories was colored and probably altered,and you can see NAOMI video looks more legit "to me" anyways..and you got to think the 60s was a time when people were against the war in Vietnam and this was a good message to brain wash people,not so much in the 80s..jus my 2 cent :)

THIS IS A HOAX. The font used for the subliminal message is different than the one of the lyrics. It's similar but clearly different. Pause it and compare for yourself. The subliminal text was added by someone in After Effects or some such. Don't be foolish.

I am old enough to REMEMBER seeing this every morning, and at night, and before every movie at the theater. TELEPROMPTER tech isn't an issue. This was done with layers of film. The same way they did credits and titles back in the day. Old-School editing was pretty advanced by the 1950s and 1960s. Just watch the movies and see for yourself. As to NAOMI-- See MK-NAOMI.

Thanks. The origional post was nov 11, 2009 of this supposed TV sign off! there is two problems. Teleprompters didn't start until 1974.. ABC monday night football was the first to use it! So it is not from the 60's. Next thro is not a word found in the Star spangled banner! Thru is the correct word.. and during the cold war of the 1960 that slip would have never happened. problem solved.

Actually in the 1960's "Thro' " would have been correct (that was from an English text book from the 1959-60 school year). "Thru" is a 70's term, it was less costly and space saving for "drive-through" signs (tip of the hat to Ray Kroc).

Also, electronic teleprompting was created in the 50's (LBJ was using it in '64). In this case though, moving words would be standard animation. You couldn't have the "bleed over" on a typed prompt.

I'm Canadian, but I've always been more impressed with The Star Spangled Banner than O'Canada, which is not a bad anthem in itself, either. (I also liked the American sign-offs better, too - sorry, hard-core Canadian nationalists.) @NAOMI19631963 - This appears to be a badly colorized version of this, originally in B&W. I've seen the WMAQ print again, and it was in genuine color. The lines of the song were colored yellow. Not only that, but the transition between lines of the song was straight through, none of this "subliminal" stuff as cited by 'byrd4216'. Moreover, the positioning of each line differed slightly between this and the color print used by WMAQ.
