  • Superb remix, just exactly what hiphop should still be today.

I agree with Nevawrong btw, but the overall sound of the early 90's was better (more mature) than the 80's.

I love that 1990's sweater xD

  • Damn CL Smooth was very underrated

  • i like the original from the ep so much better

  • theyre coming to zurich in about a month.. this is going to be soooo effin epic

  • I wish I was coming to Zurich.lol

    Peace,from the ATL.

  • I'm at the london show.....can't wait!

  • CL SMOOTH is underrated

  • "you couldnt bag me boy like a heafty!!" yo cl smooth is soo ill, he had lyrical delivery like no other...truly underated..

  • i ment with a heafty...

  • this is a time where the people demanded good beats and rhymes and you had to do if you wanted to make it in the business

  • modern rap is dominated by candy-ass niggaz and nasty fat african women

  • This is some true classic shit right here!

  • I miss those days and at the same time I don't. The streets of Brooklyn were so hard back then and the hip hop so great.

  • fukin love those drums!!!!

    like the cuts in 0:20

  • classic material. dags, dynamite soul.

  • Classic. i used to get bizzy to this jam

  • if short shorts are old school(which they are) then pete rock &" cl smooth are old school

  • 90 --------------96 I believe this was hip hops best years. miss the good ol days very much. Seen CL Smooth in the airport one day gave him his props.

  • 1990 to 1996 was the best years of lyricism, not hiphop,

because hiphop is a culture that consist of RAPPIN, BREAK DANCIN, GRAFFITI, SCRATCHIN, & HUMAN BEAT BOXING.

& all those elements were represented hard in the 1970's & early 1980's. when the 1990's came, the only element of hiphop that was being done to the fullest was RAPPIN.

GRAFFITI, BREAK DANCIN, SCATCHIN & HUMAN BEAT BOXING was considered "played out" in the late 80's, so when the 90's came, niggas was only rappin.

  • so the best years of hiphop was the early 80's

  • There's some truth to that, the 90s was my era though. I remember having a lot of elitism around the 4 ellements they definitely weren't "played out" to my crew.

Anyone who didn't know about that wasn't shit to us. Hip-Hop evolved a lot duringthe 90s, FXs crew, Scratch pickles, Style ellements, Super nat, Rahzel come on now... the list goes on and on.

  • yeah!, the 90's represnted hiphop culture, but not like the 80's, because those guys u named were celebrities reppin the elements, not 2 many hiphop fans in the 90's were BREAKIN, SCRATCHIN, HUMAN BEAT BOXIN, or doin GRAFFITI.

hiphop fans of the 90's were just into RAPPIN.

but in the early 80's, everywhere u looked, there were tons of niggas, SCRATCHIN, RAPPIN, HUMAN BEAT BOXIN, doin GRAFFITI, & especially BREAKIN

so hiphop as a culture was reppin the hardest in the 80's, & i was there : )

  • yup - 90's is where its at

  • Classic early 90's joint right here....very Bomb Squad sounding.

The cuts were wicked on this one.

  • 90 - 96 golden era of RAP MUSIC

  • aint nothing better than classic joints from the 90's.. "still fresh today"

  • JO dobry

  • damn this go hard

  • ! ...

  • BANGER!

  • realhiphopsucks93 is just a troll, starting drama..

  • welcome to youtube.

  • i am a huge fan of 90's music even though im 11 theres no cusing or atleast not alot not like todays rap music theres cusing in every sentence

  • We are so angry ppl chill and enjoy

  • So this is the reason why I fell in love hip hop and CL Smooth! lol

    OMG...

  • Can anyone say me what to type to download this song (with this beat)? I'm using Limeware for downloading songs.

  • I have this song, but the beat isn't same. All in all, a great song.

  • I like the LP version better! I miss REAL HIP HOP LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

  • RealHipHopSucks93 sux... this is the real hiphop!theeeem!

  • in fact you don't know what's hip hop music lol

go back listen soulja boy lil wayne poor little kid.now

  • this dude is a troll jus looking to start arguments...

    pretty pathetic...

  • Garbage??

Man gets some q-tips and clean your ears. You have been brainwashed by Lil Wayne type garbage.

  • I u hate "real" hip-hop so much, WHY THE HELL DO U WATCH THE VIDEOS? i'm just asking cause u watch alot in order to comment on them. PLUS u know A LOT of "real" hip-hop artist. do a favor to ur-self and stop watching them

  • Thats y u still sucking me.

  • can i ask 'realhiphopsucks93'.... how do you justify that this kinda hiphop sucks and new age shit is the real stuff to the culture and struggle of what hip hop is? just wondering what your reasons are?

  • awesome reasons mate, truly awesome

  • Thats y u still sucking me.

  • u still sucking me.

  • I think he's hilarious! why you mad?

  • who the hell are u?

  • what cd was this on

  • all soul'd out

  • this guy has a funny head

  • I have heard this record for 16 years and ill take 16 years more!

  • i totally digg this sheat! ;]

  • Foshoow'

  • You can't get rap like this anymore! It don't get no better than raps like this. What happened to all our hip hop? I tell you what happened, when Hip Hop mainstream wack rappers started overflowing the stations and strip clubs played the wack shit for women's to strip too. Anything on the radio sounds like a woman can strip to it. That's where hip hop went.

  • Havent seen this video in over 10 yrs. Thanks.

  • M6 LOST TAPE MAN !!!

    YOU RULES

    Spécial dédicace

merci pour le son old school

  • im getting this CD as well as the 2 disc lost and found cd on my b-day...oh yeah im buying it, not bootlegging it, support real hip hop

  • I prefer the cd version over the video version BUT sitll a great song.

  • because he did write his rhymes

  • its unacceptable that cl smooth doesnt get love when they talk about the greatest ever. his flow is absurd. and pete rock is a fuckin g on the brakes

  • Because he really wasn't anybody without a pete rock beat. Not that he wasn't a great MC, but I think the main attraction of Pete and CL was the production. When have you ever listened to CL over anything besides pete rock?

  • well most if not all hip-hop songs rely on the beat.if da beat aint poppin den da song ain poppin.I've heard songs dat I didnt like frm many artist's but wen some1 remixed it & put a better beat on it,then I liked the song.TRUST,rappers know this, dats y dey always looking for a HOT producer who can give dem a HOT beat. Its da beat dat makes u move.I mean some songs have wicked beats & crappy lyrics but how u think da ppl out now are able to make such crappy songs?cuz its da beat ppl like.

  • nevawrong: true.

  • The remix is fucking beautiful. One of my fav songs of all time.

  • check out heavy d..over weight lover heavy dd thats tha cut pete rock used...

  • this is for mfsilveroxide with a user name like that we all know he is some fuckin white boy suckin his dads dick/// bitch tha 90s are over no shit but this is tha best hip hop that ever came out tha golden era...so go suck ya dads dick and peace to newyorkowner got point you made///

  • got to remember that kats frpm tha east were 5% GODS and the knowledge was there in the lyrics...have you ever heard a south 85er talk about math? 5% THEY DONT HAVE A CLUE EVEN THEN THEY WERE LOST DOWN THERE AND NOW THAT THERE ON THA WORLD SEES THA TRASH RAP THEY SPIT OUT..PEACE TO THA GODS

  • Y Equal....I've been in the Nation since build build year. Grew up in the Dessert of Now Why See.....that being said...you are 100%correct about the Gods from NY bringing the lyrical math in different forms...scientifically laid like Rakim...lyrical complexes like Lakim Shabazz...crazy wordplay like Brand Nubian....street novels and realness like Wu.

Cl Smooth was not Godbody...familiar with the studies but not in the nation.

Corporate America couldn't have kids learning from this music!

  • pete with shorts! haha!

    this is real motherfuckers.

    peace and real hip hop!

  • shout out to Money Earnin Mount Vernon!!!

  • i agree with you too man ↓

  • I agree ↓

  • Wow 90s hip hop forever

  • this is still the best music eva made

so heartfelt, so RAW, so genius

nowadays it seems like everyone is in the game just to make a quick buck

so sad, better yet it ruins the hip hop picture/culture and how people approach it.

    ol skool/underground music #1!!!!

  • this shit was IMPOSSIBLE to find on the west coast when it first dropped...

  • i know this sample E.S.G - UFO

    anyway... dope song !!

  • This shit is still sooo hard.

  • what happened to this kind of hip hop? why the hell did it all go down the tubes?

  • money corrupts...

  • The 90s are over.

  • Do you know anything about the 90s you dumb ass prick? Huh? Don't disrespect an era where real hip hop came from. The garbage that's played today can't compare to the good shit from the 90s. Rap today is unintelligent. All they preach is ass, bling, and clothes. 90s rap sent messages that made a difference. Rap today sends garbage through the airwaves. You're all so hooked on this Souljah Boy and Lil Wayne garbage, it's ridiculous. You all need history lessons. 90s rap forever.

  • true dat, these faggots don't even know the roots of their music

  • wow...couldnt have said it better myself

  • Agreed brotha.

90's hip-hop actually had a message worth standing for. Now a day's the message is get money or die tryin. I belive hip-hop is alive and strong. Your still hearing good hip-hop being played and seein men and women emceein and deejayin and graffiting.

Im a proud listener of underground and 90's and the 80's hip-hop.

  • Kids today are functionally illiterate. 90's artists were very thoughtful...check the lyrics compared to todays crap... lil wayne, piles, soldier boy = garbage

  • I agree

  • Real shit!

  • "I'm not your ordinary/Modern-day cliche/'Cause i'm here to save ya little lost souls,anyway."

    --CL for Pres.'08!!!

  • Sound, sound, sound perfect.

  • dope

  • Fuck man this is real hip hop!

  • Yea boy. They don't do it like this anymore.

  • "Kicking like Pele" great line!!!

  • He´s got more "Beats, than saddam hussein".

  • I thought it was "less beef than saddam hussein"?

  • when I design an army, i can reign, but NEVER HAVE more beef than sadaam hussein

  • Yeah, i was paraphrasing, because it was the first time i'd heard the song and i couldnt remember the exact line but I knew that he was talking about BEEF not BEATS.

    So there.

  • all good, I respect everybody recognizing the realness right here!!

  • hell yea! :)

  • Actually he was refering to the first Gulf war.

The build-up before...this EP came out in the fall of 1990 on Electra records.

That's the real! I was there!

  • best hip hop ,, pete rock cl smooth, nuaghty by nature, de la soul just rhymes and rythm

  • oldschool all the way sweet

  • damn ! such a sweeeet sound !

I like the old moves too !

  • KICKASS i pray for the real hip hop comeback. Please god help us.

  • Me too damnit!!! Master P single handedly killed hip hop...comeback!!!!!

  • master p didnt kill hip hop THATS in your head. master p wasnt even about hip hop he was from the ghetto he was all about rap. he did gutter shit. HIP HOP is not dead people its under our noses you just gotta now where to find it

  • what about del, handsome boy modeling school, mf doom? aren't those guys old school? hip hop is not dead

  • All I'm saying y'all is that is HIP HOP..that should be mainstream, that should be all that is respected and listened to...love MF Doom and Del btw and Dan the Automator is a very innovative cat...

  • Yes, hip-hop is still alive, but it is definitely in hiding. Long gone are the days when mainstream hip-hop was actually good (in some cases)

  • My favorite East Coast Beats ever!! I bet 50 cent could've done these beats but he is bullsh-T like southern rappers.

  • STRAIGHTEN IT OUT!!!!!!!

  • Word that was my shit! CLASS OF 92 YALL!!

  • man!! shout out to oldsville!!

    straightening it out!!

  • You Can Get More Flava Like This On The Title

Track Album "Mecca & The Soul Brother". By The Way, "Return Of The Mecca", Is The Part

Two To "Mecca & The Soul Brother". Check That

One Out Too As Well. Peace...

  • .....And of course "ALL SOULED OUT" EP, their first realese......

  • CL was bald back in the day? ahaha! This is classic! I wish I had their first EP but no store in my area has it anymore =/

  • pete rock is rediculous how he uses the horns in the old joints, premo admitted he had to step his game up when he was hearing PR's joints

  • Pete Rock is good with the horns. It was part of the Jazzy east coast sound. Jazz was a big influence in the oldschool hiphop sound ya know?

  • Pete Rock is good with the horns. It was part of the Jazzy east coast sound. Jazz was a big influence in the oldschool hiphop sound ya know?

  • Next level Timeless s--t!WORD!

  • Why do I keep wanting B-Real to come in with a verse on this track.

  • He wouldn't sound right on this track especially rhymin after CL Smooth

  • I disagree with Wreckords - I've ALWAYS felt this version better. I could never find iton vinyl though. Classic material!!

  • Oneohwon - this is available on vinyl, there is the original promo 12" but that goes for approx $200 upwards, there is also a japanese promo called 'Unreleased Joints'...this is easier to find and can cost anything from $10 up to $100 depending on who the seller is. Check Discogs.

  • what remix is it?

  • should be the wig out mix.

  • dope remix even though i liked the original version better.

  • save the mystery for agatha christie !!!! wicked track this.

  • TiGHT BeAT.

  • agreed =]

  • hahahaha...Pete Rock and CL are so ill that they can even pull off those tucked in shirts into their shorts. I don't think I even did that when that was in. Classic joint from a classic duo.

  • i have to come back to the comment BobbitoDigital2007 placed what he said about common .. he doesn't only rap about love songs.. he's known for it okay but he has lots of other nog love songs which are real good .. just listen to : ressurection, I used to love H.E.R( not letterly her.. it's about hip hop) and lots more..

  • Damn I miss this type of hip hop. These youngstas are crazy!

  • ok ok i can see where this Stand/PR and CL comparison came from, and i see it as very valid.

But saying any album they could make is as good as this head breaking music is just not going to happen.

  • as much as i love a tribe called quest q tip selled out when he made shit songs like vibrant thing and breathe and stop,,and common hes shit,,all he talks about is love songs and shit,, pete rock and cl smooth are hip hop ledgends, and cant be replaced!!!
