  • i seriously need one of these :D

  • this is the coolest calendar I've ever seen. does it acfcount for leap year too?

  • The Chicken is a Luddite it’s complaining about being usurped as a time keeper

  • Nice work, very creative.

    Congratulations!

    Roberto - Brazil

  • This is really cool. I'm thinking of getting the plans myself. I've only got one question, how do you wind it?

  • Does it recognise leap years?

  • This is wonderful.

  • That is the coolest fucking thing I've seen in a long time. Only it's about 1/15th the size it should be.

  • Супер я в жшоке!11

    Хочу так уметь!!! чёрт!!

  • I Approve!

  • I've looked at a lot of your clocks - great work!

  • how can i build my own ? have you any plans ?

  • "today is july 1. 2008" video added june 29. 2008!

  • would it be that hard to combine both clocks so that it told time and had the calender on it or at the veryleast incorperate its own weighted system to it so that it keeps it going so you dont have to change the day. it would just be safer. who knows your the wizzard here. you seem to have clockwork down pretty well, could you do vid of exactly a regular clockworks. im having the worst time putting togetherthe information.

i hope you can help me, thankyou very much

  • crap this is awesome how the hek did u think o this?

  • DEAR

    DID YOU SALE YOUR ITEMS

    SHIMON HENIG

    BUBIMA STORES

  • i am dumb founded

  • Sooo... um... where's the clock?

  • This is absolutely amazing...I cannot even being to appreciate the mathematics involved in creating this. And that is not even taking into account the gorgeous wood-working that has gone into it.

  • WOW

  • thats amazing who was the idiot voted down!?? come on,this is art of sceinces

  • (this message to quilty1987)

1stly, are you Clayton Boyer? because this is one of the 8 wonders of the modern world.

2ndly, I would love to have a calendar like this, but is it possible to design a optional removable cover, that only shows the date, day etc when put on?

  • This is pretty insane. It's like the Antikythera Mechanism or something.

  • I appreciate the time and effort you take to produce your designs. I can say you can most definitely sell your plans for much more than you do. If your modest or not, I know you appreciate the following you have created. I personally can't wait until I can afford the tools it takes to make your creations, like Adrian and others. When I do, I will post it for everyone to see. Thanks for being so generous. I can't wait to see yours and Adriana comments of my personal twist.

  • thats just some old fashioned witchcraft

  • hey hey wat about febuary think of that

  • @Maperguy519 That's what the cam is for that pushes the month wheel over a bunch of extra days for the ends of months that aren't 31 days long.

  • Comment removed

  • @ahhAhahahaahhah It does rotate about its axis, just once a month, think about it.

  • geez this is art

  • That's awesome I have to add that to my collection.

  • This is brilliant in so many ways, I can hardly begin to describe it.

  • Programming in wood! Very cool.

  • what i dont get is... why in the video you said that it was July 1st and on youtube it says that you uploaded the video on June 29th! XD

  • NICE ! ! !

  • this has to be the most impresive thing i have ever seen!

  • No matter how many times I see this, I still can't figure out how it works. You loose me every time at the part with the end of the month advance cam thingy.

  • Mechanical computation, it will never have a problem or glitch unlike electronic computers, i like mechanical computers.

  • @NathansBackwoods ya, you could buy several computers for what this thing would cost IF you could even get one.. and it has plenty of rom for error.. you have to remember to pull the chain every day..

  • "Rom" for error, huh? It seems as though your fancy computer missed that one... All that aside, you're missing the point. This is a beautiful work of engineering and art, not an atomic clock, you moron.

  • @NathansBackwoods The term "bug" came from an instance of a moth flying into a mechanical component of a computer... so I will call that a problem. They are awesome though.

  • Amazing!

  • True genius!

What a machine, thanks for sharing.

  • you made this?!?!?!

  • this makes the Mayan calender look like sh*t!!!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!

  • this is epic.

  • .. i love this...

and i keep accidently hitting thumbs down instead of up, so sorry if i got anyones.

  • Magnifique !

  • that was brilliant! Maybe you should change the balance wheel (the one that goes round and makes the full think move) into some wheel that allows the rotation to continue once the movments are done. At 5:03, I don't like how it stops, it's too brusque plus it will probably wear the wheel out alot faster ;)

The advancing day thing was ingenious :P

  • wow

  • I... I have no words...

  • u should hook it up to a clock that knows the time, and can be set to auto rotate, when the day changes

  • that or seeing this on a timelaps would be awsome

  • It would be cool to see one of those wooden clock designs integrated into this, wouldn't it...

  • bonjour de france vous avez fait un travail exceptionnel bravo !!!!magnifique

  • So Awesome.

  • That is just amazing!

  • I WANNA BE A CARPENTER!!!!!... damn so nice... highly artistic.. salute!

  • I don`t know how to put my feelings into words. It is AWSOME, AWSOME, AWSOME. I am aware of the fact that the word awsome is far from explaining my

experience. Beautifully made a true art piece. Thanks!

  • Unreal Beyond words.!

Not to detract from the splendor of this work. But as someone else asked why not a clock too and have the clock advance everything for you.

  • i think it would be cool if u added a clock

  • Aloha Wazii6, I considered powering this mechanism with a clock, but I figured that you'd miss all the action unless there was some signal that the clock was about to be set off. The real fun of this mechanism is watching it go through all of its gyrations. Even after all this time, I still love watching the calendar's movement each morning when I throw the levers!!!

  • i see all the fine kinectic art mechnisms in ure profil i cant find mediveal astronomical clock

  • You CAN see an astronomical clock on my site. It is called the Medieval Astronomical Calendar Clock.

  • Quran , sura 10 : yunus , chapter (5)

He it is Who appointed the sun a splendour and the moon a light, and measured for her stages, that ye might know the number of the years, and the reckoning. Allah created not (all) that save in truth. He detaileth the revelations for people who have knowledge. (5)

  • What do you do on a leap year, Feb. 29?

  • GREAT work. I would love to create something so amazing.

  • It's ... beautiful!

  • Hol* S*it, a time machine!!!!!

  • Gorgeous!

  • hold on a sec, this vid was posted on 28th june 08 but he says it is july 1 at some point in the video!

  • The great thing about creating your own universe is that you can change it at will. Especially important when one is trying to demonstrate what it is capable of. If you don't like today, change it to tomorrow or yesterday or next month. Want to see when Mercury goes into retrograde? Wondering when the next full moon will be? How long until the solstice? What the next full moon ascention sign is, or where the sun is in the zodiac? It's all there. Just throw the levers and it will show you.

  • Yea on my end it says 29th june :P

  • maybe he made it in 07

  • Well it says the vid was posted on the 29th now.

  • This is very amazing !!! Thanks

  • Alas, one day every four years the CMC-O requires some human input. That problem is solved simply by not throwing the levers that release the motive mechanism, and manually moving the day of the week wheel and the day of the month wheel one notch. With that simple maneuver complete everything is ready for the next four years.

  • Does it do leap years?

  • Incredible Craft and Technique...Execution...

  • absolutely fascinating!

  • Hey, good vid. Thanks for sharing.

  • incredible, thanks

  • alll of that going on and I am amazed by the fact that it will skip a day on the end of the month. Clayton Boyer is a master.

  • That is amazing!

  • Truely magnificent. Another materpice from the grand master of wooden clocks.
