but shit Ronald, I am tired of pleading to your website only to have full knowledge of the words in 'Ambergris' - what the fuck Needs Must Have here?? Brother, you are a total cunt to wave at the sea like that when I want you to frigging point.
I'm Australian. I've got something to say. Died Pretty is the unacknowledged 'seminal' band, the best my so-called 'nation' has ever 'produced'.This special record is a marvel containing many marvels, a pinnacle of music - that Mozart would have delighted in for it's fine walk upon the tightrope of art beneath which the precipice of sentiment or pretence, and that the profundity of which I can hardly imagine Beethoven scowling at. Not for nothing do they quote W.B. Yeats; they rightly can.
Doughboy Hollow... an amazing album by an amazing band... I remember having the cassette in my car, never listening to the radio, just to Died Pretty... knew all the words to all the songs...Sweetheart was my favourite...
That was 20yrs ago and I still lament that as a nation who appreciates good music let these guys fade away......
What beautiful music. Australia produces so many wonderful musicians. Such a pity few get the exposure they deserve. I agree with mepegasus. Commerical TV and radio really lets its listeners down. It actually makes me wonder why people waste their time listening to such obviously inferior product. Another great band from this era are the Clouds. They were similarly ignored by commerical radio. If you get a chance check out their album Penny Century.
Does it get any better than this? Corporate radio automatons steadfastly ignored stunning, unique Australian alternative music from the likes of Died Pretty,The Triffids and Go-betweens while Savage Garden was played on monotonous rotation...makes you want to weep for what might have been.
Yeah.

We shall see, we shall see:
Did you buy these for me?
We’ll be walking and talking
Till we get them to the sea.
Baby. Whatever. Ooo Ooo :D

Wonderful song and a quality audio upload. But it has a great fun clip. Sadly whenever someone uploads it, their record company pulls it off. grr :(
