  • That was art

  • VIRTUOSO

  • @merlinchanelle Pure virtuoso for sure!

ALSO, CHECK OUT THE GUITAR PLAYER ON MY PROFILE!HE WILL TAKE YOU OFF THIS PLANET! HE'S GONNA BE THE NEXT SRV!!!

  • FUCK SPENNY :D KENNY IS HOTTZER

  • Tabs please

  • 3:53 stevie ray junkie

  • he went nuts at the end wtf

  • anyone else notice the guy behind stevies amp when hes beating his guitar on it at 4:54 lol he probebly like HOLY SHIT!

  • jimi must have been so damn proud

  • How to relic a Strat: Example #1

  • Jeff beck is on another plane altogether - a good, artistic musical plane - but still not here. Beck NEVER aspired to be Jimi Hendrix - he, like Clapton, knew he could never be Hendrix. So he set out to be - himself! I think he succeeded.

  • @eavitale055 As if Hendrix could have ever been Beck, Clapton or whoever...everybody is themselves. That's why we have tons of them, thank God

  • watching srv and im thinking who is around today like him??? just aint anyone around, maybe jeff beck???????

  • amazing cover, jimi and srv gotta be best two guitar players that ever lived!!

  • I think he admired Hendrix so much that he actually committed himself to go where Hendrix went musically. To me that is worthy of respect as it seems like an impossible task.It wasn't just "copying" Jimi.Stevie covered Hendrix's works with revery and complete adoration of the artist he knew hendrix was.Don't know too many artists who do a cover of Hendrix's work and make the 'mark".Just like Hendrix raised the bar on some of the covers he did.just MHO

  • @LutherRayable: Hendrix did the same with Dylan’s music...though I personally didn't like the results. And Stevie liked Hendrix songs, right; he said "I loved his music and I feel like it's important to hear what he was doing, just like anybody else, just like Albert, Buddy or B.B...."

  • That guitar gonna need a serious re-tune after that beating... well worth it tho :)

  • Those Canooks STILL don't know what hit 'em!!!!

  • Those Canooks don't know what hit 'em!!!!

  • hendrix-model t

    srv-lambo

  • @wheelmanstan

    Stevie=Lambo

    Jimi=UFO

  • Give anything to an US american, and you can be sure he will rate it, compare it and he will fight everyone with a different opinion.

So they discuss the scratches on the guitar, whether SRV was on drugs or not, and bla...

    Did anyone listen?

Funny thing is, this is a song about the strange folks on planet earth, and how weird they act. They proove it.

All I miss is someone asking for the tabs of this song.

  • Hendrix = Mozart

    SRV= Salieri

  • That poor guitar! lol.

  • @TheBibleWitness

    Hendrix = Mozart

    SRV = SRV

  • never thought id say this, But this is By far, better than hendrix.

  • i don't think he was on cocaine nah he wasn't on anything

  • @Scoboy007 at the time of this recording he was doing drugs, but later got off of them

  • Strat rules..

  • Comment removed

  • that was gay

  • @rustydld i looked at your channel. are you permanently taking salvia hits? let me guess. you haven't ever touched a girl. maybe your boyfriend in the video...

  • you really couldn't do that with a Les Paul!

  • Oh thats why he's guitar is so beat up.

  • Love this CD

  • Stevie 1 x 0 Guitar!

  • coolest 6 minutes of guitar ever, I mean ever-- don't argue just enjoy wow, wow, wow,

  • Only SRV could have come up with something that was so simple to the ear and so complex to the guitarist. SRV was and still is truly The Man!

  • @TheShane1976 its a Hendrix song :-) but still a very good cover, his fat strings make it very raw(r) and bold

  • @TheShane1976 Only Hendrix*

  • @TheShane1976 lmaooo.. i think you mean hendrix because this isnt an srv song.

  • @2:54 ... im trying like hell to make it feed back but it just wont!!

  • @wlchambers at 4:50 you can see someone doing something to the amp while Stevie is Playing

  • @Karu617th Yup a Roadie is holding it in place to counter the weight Stevie lays on it and guitar ;)

  • wow,, so much like hendrix ,, i wonder what he could of done with a bass

  • Never fails to give me the chills. Love you always Stevie!!!

  • He will live forever on his songs.

    No one can change it

  • BEST EVER

  • The first time I ever saw SRV was in a little club in Palo Alto, CA called the Keystone and he tore the house down when he played this Hendrix tune. He had everyone going totally wild as he built up the tension in this song and channeled Hendrix on stage, but it was in his own Stevie Ray Vaughan way. I still miss him...

  • 1000%

  • Stevie is siting up there and playing for GOD!

  • GOD OF GUITAR SRV

  • rocks answer to hendrix's death? ladys and gents, Mr Stevie Ray Vaughan.

  • Not of this earth

  • fuckin aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • SRV has always said that Jimi was the best! However, SRV has always taken Jimi's stuff to another level!!!!

  • @tedwyer Stevie is a master, but remember, HENDRIX S GOD

  • @gfgranja

Hendrix is a cocksucker... Stevie is the true god of music.

  • @DerickLazell If you have said this to Stevie, he would punch your face

  • @DerickLazell

you know nothing so pi@~ off

  • @DerickLazell Hendrix was SRV's idol. So to say that about Hendrix is also saying it about it. Why do people limit their musical choices? There are great artists in many.

  • @DerickLazell And you're a retard.

  • @gfgranja exactly

  • Stevie always praised Jimi as the best! However, Stevie took Jimi's stuff to another level!

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan was the only one who could play Jimi Hendrix besides Jimi Hendrix. :) They both were, and always will be, guitar legends!

  • @RingoGeorgeJohnPaul2 Sorry, can't quite agree with that limited statement...Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush should be included there. Listen to their album CHILD OF THE NOVELTY.

  • un B, people are talking about kurt the dead (I cant sing either) in the same breath with Jemmeh and Steeveh...lol,

  • he gets that sound from just that fender amp?

  • @steviemike7 and 2 tubescreamers , but those are just supposed to push the speakers on his amp harder ... correct me if I'm mistaken .

  • from here fender's idea of relics guitar!!!... they make a guitar and give it to stevie who play this song in this way... here you are!!!!

  • Only a Strat can survive that abuse, no other guitar comes close

  • @Fendermanpaul Pre Cbs Strat were build like thanks :D

  • @Fendermanpaul

I wish that was still the case, but nowadays, both Gibson and Fender just depend on their brand to sell the products. Quality of craftsmanship is slowly slipping out of the equation :(

  • @Fendermanpaul the authentication test for an genuine strat should be "be tested by SRV"

  • @Fendermanpaul fenders in general. teles are monsters!

  • @Fendermanpaul Joe Strummer's Tele, Neil Youngs Les Paul, Alvin Lee's ES-335, Keef's Tele.

A lot of guitar's can survive that plus more.

  • i don't want to offend anyone here cause i really dig SRV and hendrix, but NO one can beat hendrix (and its likely no one ever will). but that being said, the guitarists who come closest to equaling hendrix are either SRV or maybe someone like alvin lee. but you still can't beat hendrix no matter how hard you try

  • @thedoorsforever256 As Stevie said it best, "there's only one Jimi Hendrix." Stevie knew that and that's why his covers of Hendrix's songs are as good as they are, because all of Stevie's playing came from the soul, not from trying to better the original. No competition required!

  • @csi2448 exactly! it takes a true artist to stay away from having an ego! wouldn't it have been crazy if hendrix had lived and jammed with SRV?

  • @csi2448 Absolutely. Stevie was always somewhat embarrassed & a little guilty by the success he had. That's why he always made it a point later in his career to try & promote & play with a lot of his idols that never received mainstream acclaim during their heydey.

  • this was a concert i only wish i could've been apart of (this the second fucking time i've had to write this...stupid fucking "word verification")

    Thanks youtube!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn ladies and gentlemen!

  • stevie ray and jimi hendrix must be 2 of the most virtious players ever

'sponse 2 that ;-) (bold statement?)

  • too fast. it looses it sould factor at that rate. ino train to catch--it's booking without me.

  • Stevie nearly destroys his guitar on this one! I know how it feels! I almost destroyed the planet playing 3stone on my acoustic guitar! Thankfully Astroman came along to save the day! Love and respect to Stevie! Blessed be Jimi! The spirit lives on! Yours truly, Shiny Raygun

  • Even the part where he just trashes the guitar, sounds great!

  • Is that f%^&ing UNREAL ? Always thought Jimi was the best but damm Stevie does a great imitation !

Makes Kurt Cobain look like an amatuer when it comes to guitar feedback handling like flipping burgers on a BBQ !

  • @Keating777 First off... Kurt Cobain is shit. Don't bring him up here. Secondly... SRV is the only person who can outdo Hendrix on his OWN songs LOL.

  • @Zeta9966 Do not disrepect Kurt. I dont care where you are. SRV is my biggest musical inpiration and my favorite guitarist. But Kurt Cobain was one of the forefathers of grunge just as hendrix was a forefather of modern rock and blues. Get your Shit straight.

  • @elcottonball bullshit, the Blues was around way before Jimi, reading the SRV book caught in the crossfire, it'll teach you alot

  • BTW Stevie was opening for Huey Lewis and The News. Sevie blew them away.LOL!!!

  • @beatlesfantoo Yeah! I saw that tour.. Didn't bother to stay for Huey. After SRV did his thing there was no point in staying for anyone.. It was a tour-pairing almost as absurd as putting Jimi before The Monkeys.. Funny. I was up front, and all these preppy teenie bop girls were frowning and covering their ears. Priceless!!

  • I saw him play this the first time I saw him(Mar. or April 84. I was 10ft away from him. They had cardboard taped to cement stage so his #1 wouldn't get ripped to shreds. It was Awesome to watch his magic on stage!!!

  • right on stevie rip bro

  • actually the next song was lenny so there was no re tuning wen he pulls out his lenny strat coasterguy

  • How is he getting those notes/sounds at 1:51 - 2:02 , like a harmonic.

  • that was........FUKEN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pinoM3626 HAHAHA SISISI JAH JAH!!!!

  • @necr086 only Hendrix is a good example of Hendrix. Trower is awesome, SRV is awesome, and Hendrix is awesome but all their own people and music. similar but not an imitation. just my veiw anywho.

  • @necr086 wow ... that is a bit terse since SRV is a complete legend in his own right

  • Y es que cuando tocas una rola de Hendrix te entra el complejo de azotar a la guitarra y quemarla jejeje

  • Suena bien chingon el bajeo

  • @necr086 kill yourself you clueless pile of shit

  • @necr086 lol, right.

  • Rene Martinez rebuild his guitars after every show. That guitar "one" had four necks in ten years, from a '61 strat D: they were wider and longer. he broke it in half at two separate shows in Europe. Was playing it the next night after both. My dad saw him in Austin in 79 and said he broke the fretboard midshow and had it back onstage in ten mins. In tune and everything... I think this is beyond us left to listen to it...

  • Great!

  • JMH is proud to have SRV sitting at ' his ' side !

  • @ukraininoak You betcha!!!

  • Pretty soon, all of the good ones are gonna be gone, enjoy them and their music while it lasts!

  • G.O.A.T.

  • unreal i love it. i thought i was the only one who did this crazy s##t.rest in the arms of god my brother stevie........daniel clayton birth2death2rebirth...my chanel.

  • F'ing right. How come nobody else covets this song, but Hiself?

  • that guitar cant walk tomorrow

  • @ilmanmuutajamuutilma Funny story about particular guitar, that guitar was his favorite. At a concert, a stage light fell and broke his guitar, and he had it repaired immeadiately, He died about a week later.

  • 2:54- 4:25 XD

  • if anyone qualified to cover Hendrix.... its him!!!!!

  • At least he didn't light it on fire, smash it, and then throw it into the crowd.

  • 1:50 -there's a chip in the finish; must have bumped it into something...

  • you can tell that stevie had an intense passion for jimi hendrix by how genuine this cover is, especially with all the guitar throttling its like jimi reborn

  • 21 persons dislikes against 850, we are wright the are wrong lollll

Ah, ah, i forgot they are Britney or Lazy GaGa or maybe Justin something' fan.

  • I think alot of re-tuning went on after that song...

  • @Coasterguy45 that was the last song in the set.

  • @Coasterguy45 you really think so?

  • a matto! :)

  • HOW DOES HIS GUITAR STAY IN TUNE USING THAT TREMOLO?

    Shits unheard of with fenders

  • @SKAuthenticDank Its a real fender trem... my buddy built his own fender with a real fender trem (not the licensed one). You can wail on that thing for days and it stays in perfect tune. Van Halen used one on his original guitar.

  • the fuck happened at 1:13?

  • The one guitarist that could tap into the very essence & spirit of Jimi Hendrix.

Like Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan was the light that shined so brightly in so

many ways. I had seen him twice, live in concert & man, WHAT AN EPIPHANY!!!

Heaven & Hell never sounded so immaculate, w/ a Delta Blues swagger!!!

This is what makes GREAT ROCK & ROLL........ONLY ONCE IN A LIFETIME.

  • Those people in that room are the luckiest sob's ever.

  • @MrGalustin that aint the devil bother, thats the LORD MOST HIGH.

  • 19 disin' mutha fuckers!!!! some peoples retarded ass kids i guess, that or bieber punks one or the other. Stevie man, you picked up where Jimi left off and you go dieing to, damn it man!!!!! thanks for the jams bro.

  • lol when you think how much that particular guitar is worth now....and he was treating it like dirt while still making it sound musical....amazing.

  • crazy motherfucker

  • man that's fucking unbelievable

  • sounds like slayer

  • he broke the high E string and put it back on in like 15 seconds in the middle of the show, stevie was soooooo bad ass dude......he beat the shit out of that guitar and it was one of the best sounding guitars there ever was!!

  • too extreme for the average viewer...........never misses a note. the best ever

  • RIP SRV Master of the Blues

  • wow that was intense.

  • Was S.R.V. on drugs at this concert? I mean look how he played this song and look at what he did to that guitar!

  • Stevie ray Vaughan does not play the same type of music. Stevie ray was and still is the greatest blues guitarist alive. The guy just knows exactly where and how to put stuff in a song. Noone will ever compare to him.

  • Das ist das aller geilste Gitarrensolo

  • Das ist das aller geilste Gitarrenstück

  • Stevie playnig to be god...

  • most bassists would get bored playing just those 3 notes for 6 minutes straight, but when you get to watch SRV at the same time, who gives a shit?

  • @YanksFan162 True but does it not go to show just how talented these guys are from that era, iI's actually hard to hit those same 3 notes over and over on time for 25 minutes. Plus the fans dont know and dont want to know how musicians do it as long as it sounds good to them.

  • love him.

  • YES!!!!!

  • paunchetow...

both jimi and stevie were awesome guitarists with different play styles, united by the blues.

and srv came way later... how are you comparing with such precision?

  • Any one will go insane listing to the same riff's over and over. Just pick one of his songs and you've heard them all. To think he's in the same league with jimi your on crack. What more over rated is some ass that makes comments about a guitarist that still has his mama get boogers out of his nose.

  • @captLaszio you must not know who you are talking about...you cant judge him off this one video..and have you ever watched Hendrix do this song

  • @captLaszlo lmao, possibly THE most ignorant thing i have read on youtube today....and that's saying somethin

  • @captLaszlo

fuck you asshole. have u played an instrument besides ur dick. that was the shittiest comment i have ever read. ur an asshole get a life and learn what ur talking about u dick

  • @captLaszlo Stfu. Why not try play with Jimi?

  • he sure could make BEAUTIFUL music Always alive in my heart ♥ Wish I was his #1 Guitar :) !!!!!

  • mbv bnvv

  • @actionmanrandell And you my friend are the stupidest man on earth!!

  • ummmm no offense but y does he not slappa tha bass mon slappa da bass

  • So brilliant man,sad he´s not here today...

  • 4:41 The cry of a guitar in the wild, fading away as he is attacked by its natural predator. What a world!

  • she was asking for it.

  • @cthekkan Go watch Stevie's performance of Voodoo Chile in Nashville from 1987. At the end he breaks a string and then Number 1 takes a beating on the floor!! He then nonchalantly hands his guitar to his tech and shrugs his shoulders, basically saying, "she was asking for it"

  • tommy shannon is an ace bass player!!! O,O

  • fuck helicopters

  • stevie got that hendrix feedback down in this song pretty good

  • Santana did this as well, even with the same drum and bass beat in the back ground, he was doing some improv with that beat and suddenly went into Third Stone.

  • @TheComeonfeet. from the El Mocambo, Toronto, in 1983. I guess

  • What concert is this from?

  • My Godfather of Guitar!

  • People who say hendrix is better than SRV is like arguing that the pope is more religious than the dhali lama or ferrari is better than lamborghini. Opinions are like assholes everyone has one and they all stink!!!! These two guys are rock and blues gods that are arguably the two best to ever pick up a guitar!!!! Give these two legends the respect that they deserve and stop saying one is better than the other!!!!!
