  • Kinda lame to criticize him for that ... back then it was more about what you did and not how you did it.

  • Besides, this guy skated in bakersfield and visalia with tom knox, who was the king of jerky twitchy skating.

  • The Karma that I remember was when he had the shaggy blonde hair. I skated with him once in Bakersfield, and also got to talk to him a minute at a competition in Visalia. I was a young teenager. He was a really nice guy.

I sometimes wonder what happened to Karma and Tom Knox.

  • Karma is still on consolidated skateboards.

  • that was the shit! love this dts video

  • im a slut

  • Dude this was the vid I saw back then and was like, this guy kills it. He still kills it. big ups from Luciano.

  • I had no idea he was this good. I think most people slept on him back then.

I never even seen this video before.

  • this was a great time in sk8ing, but hey you got to keep the memory alive by not giving in. still to this day i sk8, for there's no other way to keep something alive then by doing it till you die.

  • Yes, this video brings me back to a time when a man could skate down the street and not be persecuted for enjoying the comforts of sheer pantyhose.

  • Meet this guy a few times mad respect

  • This is a great vid back wen skateboarding wasent so over the top gooood shit

  • Karma is 100% bad ass

  • Thanks so much for posting this, I've been looking for Dogtown video clips for years! Now if someone could only post some decent resolution clips of SMA's DEBUNKER!

  • wiem że tak kiedyś wyglądała desorolka ale zdecydowanie ardziej wole teraźniejszy styl jazdy...

  • who does this song?

  • no clue... i suppose it may be in the credits which is the only clip I didn't post.

  • It's "And That's Sad" and "The Day Everything Became Nothing" by NoMeansNo. Karma had a interview in Transworld and talked about them a bit I believe. Cool band. My favorite albums of theirs are "Small Parts Isolated and Destroyed" (where you'll find "And That's Sad" -- the C D also includes "The Day Everything Became Nothing") and "Wrong."

  • Dude, you're so right. That interview turned me on to this band, which I still admire. That was fifteen years ago!

    What an ace skater.

  • @misanthropic89

The band is "NoMeansNo" song is "And that's sad" from the Small Parts Isolated and destroyed album in '86. NMN is still touring and making music. Check them out. One of my favorite bands.

Awesome footage jacob. Thank-you so much for sharing all of this. Brings back so many memories

  • @misanthropic89 No Means No "And That's Sad"

  • what year is this all from?

  • 1990 for the most part, maybe a bit of 91.

  • Thanks for posting this. This is easily one of the greatest skateboard films ever made. I still have mine lying around somewhere.

    :-)

  • wow. That's a big statement. It's pretty funny, cause we made it soooo low budget. I mean tape to tape some vhs and mostly 8mm, with crappy titles... i just think it's an incredible time capsule for some little known skaters and tricks!

  • I think that is one of the reasons I love it so much. It reminds me of a time when skateboarding was 'innocent'. I suppose it grants me a feeling of nostalgia. I agree in full with the time capsule statement. I think that sums it up perfectuly for me.

  • i agree with suicide1112. videos like this were made to show how skateboarding, not to show the newest filming techniques or somebody's new luxury vehicle. it was pure and untainted and it's a joy to watch because i bet it was a joy to make. brings back a lot of memories.

  • to have over 7 minutes of footage , with no 2nd or 3rd angle or slomos , would be like having a 30 minute part today...i miss these days...thanks for the vid!

  • i still got this vid

that was such a sick part

  • He reminds me of Armando Barajas with all the quick combos on the curbs / ledges, not to mention that he has a really good style. Killer stuff.

  • Front shuv to backlip line was amazing. So good, thanks for posting this up man!

  • Karma is rad!
