Jackdawack5555, I completely agree.
And whoever was talking about this plane not neading all of the runway, he's very right. Check out my vid I filmed from Sicker Road, and you can see that the plane only used a little more than half of it. Also, I think a 747 has landed here a few years ago to bring in some horses for racing season. This airport is more than equipped to handle them.

You are correct. However, the main concern for an airfield of this size is not length, but strength; there is plenty of room for the 747 to land (weve even had C-5s here), but the pavement is I believe 18" thick, where most 747 ops recommend 36". There are more risks for cracks in the pavement.

Oh really? I thought the pavement was thicker? I didn't know that. haha Thanks!! And yeah, there were at least 3 C-5 landings for the transeport of Obama's motorcade, the day before, and a few hours after the arrival of AF1.
