  • holymothafoockinchet!!! some drummas y´gat thar!

  • Are those DvDs full of educational stuff like some of those cats sharing and explaining their licks? Or is it all about showing their skillz and the whole DvD is filled with trading four soloing over a smooth vamp? Well... great drumming anyway. ;)

  • home boi in the black is burning the set this the type of drummin im talkn bout

  • yo home boi in da black is out of this world

  • All gospel drumming is a hip-hop beat, fast singles on the snare followed by variations of doubles on the base interchanged with singles on the toms really fast. It sounds like tradaba-dubidudash-atrabadapsh dutratadoobodo-psshh!

  • Everysingle one of them is sick!

Davis is just a drummer for an audience because of his style! That makes him so special!

  • Dexter's phrase at 3:07 is sick

  • dexter is Killing those drums!!

  • damn! davis is a beast!

  • jonathan davis is SICK!

  • that's the truth. Most of the fills are linear fills. This type of playing is fun to listen to for about 5 minutes. Despite the drum sound, if you close your eyes, they all sound like 1 drummer. All the same..It gets old fast.

  • what kind of drums sticks do u think they using? .. i need some where i dont sound soo loud when i use them n dat dont break ..

  • zildjian makes a 5A heavy Jazz stick that is perfectly balanced

  • @track123455 I been using wood tip vater fusions for the past year and they seems to be my favorite since i've been playing... they are like right in between the sizes of 7a and 5a so "6a" and they vater's so they're like 7.75 a pair

  • this is messed up man... fuck this shit... it makes me wanna cry

  • jonathan davis killed it man... god dammit

  • Bass player is Kevin Camp !!

  • yeah, you pretty much nailed it. Might add Mike Johnston to the line up. Check this cat Dylan Elise - he's pretty sick too.

  • You see at 6:34 how he almost lost his stick but he kept the beat and the stick..

    PURE BEAST!!!!

  • that run at :27 was sooo sick!!!!! Im a bass player not a drummer but i started off on drums so thats why i love this DVD...

  • dexter pettaway's the best one. hes my drum teacher

  • God created black people to shred on drums

    Fact !

  • No thats not true!! God created black people to shred on drums AND bass lol

    FACT!!!

  • @bebejase God created PEOPLE to shed on drums. Trust me, skin color doesn't mean anything.

  • @bebejase not just drums.

  • Its amazing and they sound incredible, but they all have the same vocabulary of chops, the same sound and way of playing, yes they are all different individually but I don't feel its that musical.

  • CRAZY

  • It's amazing these guys can play like this and not even look tired after 9 minutes :P

  • lol thats that UBER stamina

  • is that d wright on bass

  • Thing about gospel Music...you ask gospel drummers...how do you do this? they say feel it...little dude! Just Be you! Im not little any more but I've lived by that! Thats the beauty about Music....just be you! People develop their own techniques to accomplish things...PERIOD! Everyone has different kick drum technique,hand...etc! Let people be, if they get their job done! "Keep The Beat" leave them be! You understand this, your a true musician! All Drumming has Technique!

  • technique and feel go hand in hand. and if anyone is hating on this type of playing their an idiot. this is the purpose of this dvd.

  • THATS CORRECT (:

  • you could get it, and i understand in all your knowledge get understanding. but when you try to figure it out and capture it, you're trying to box it in, thats when you limit it and yourself ultimately. those who criticize it, can't accomplish it.

  • What i'm saying you don't need technique persay for Gospel Music, Gospel Music is more about feeling then technique. Just like the blues on guitar that's not about technique it's about how to connect to the music, not if you hold the stick right

  • There's no technique to Gospel Drumming, it's all about the feeling! Amen!

  • I would definitly have to disagree with that

  • Um then you're an idiot. Whats the point of playing gospel without feeling. You must not know what gospel music is then. If im wrong, why would GERALD HEYWARD the GODFATHER say it's about feeling and not technique. Go watch Kick Hi Hat Snare and tell me im wrong chump.

  • alright let me prove myself, first off, u said THERE'S NO TECHNIQUE to gospel drumming. I do believe that its all about feel to a certain extent. I play in church all the time and u need to have technique, with out technique, gospel drumming would sound like crap. and to add gerald heyward might have said that, but look were u r and look were he is. Im sure if he did what he felt all the time he wouldn't be were he is today........so think about that.......... :)

  • alright I take back there's no technique. There is I meant the technique is the feeling.

  • Well said , well said !!!

  • no disrespect, but i'd h8 to see any of your drumming videos. lemme guess, you have perfect technique?

  • dis iz hella cold..........jonathon iz a beast

  • Jonathan Davis and his crazy double bass offbeat licks I love it!

  • this right is straight this guys are killing and you can even learn from this big time good vedio and drummers

  • man this is really cool.. but 3 minutes watching it and it becomes the most boring thing ever

  • gdewberry, why would my comment give the impression of hating? You even said "where do you think most of these guys learned from?"

  • This video makes me appreciate Steve Gadd even more.

  • show your intelligence...where do you think most of these guys learned from? if you actually listen to what they are doing instead of just hating you notice that underneath all the show that are doing the same thing he does, just WAAAAY faster. they have adapted his styles and techniques for the style of music they play.

  • Jonathon"s the baddest out there

  • next to eric moore jr.

  • i can only wish

  • Really..im sitting here in awe..How do your hands get that fast..even the foot/feet..Jonathan hands are just unbelieveable..

  • Triplet Fest

  • This gets old pretty quick....sick at first though.

  • I agree! and im a gospel drummer!!!!

  • i just wish gospel drummers would put more of an interest in subtleties and soul rather than chopping all the time

  • More Creativity is whats needed. But this is a SHED so you can so what you what. LOL!

  • so jealous!!

Don't like the style but if you're this good you can play any style

    God Bless

  • except a ballad !!!!

  • There are ballads on the DVD...

  • yo, how can i enter gospel chops

  • PLEASE SOME 1 SAY WHOS ON KEYZ AND ORGAN

  • this DVD is nice

  • that is an hhx evolution ozone crash if i am not mistaken. are you thinking about getting one?

  • im planning on getting one

  • who on the keys in this vids

  • that was pure fire man!

  • Dis has got to be the sickest shed i have ever seen. "Rafiki" is a musical monsta! Bass.........drums......whats next???? He is where i want to be musically.

I just wonder if buying this DVD is worth the money???????????????

  • justin raines....just in case u see this comment (which i doubt) imma bassist/ drummer and because of the last 3 videos i watched i just got the sudden urge to just stop both lol!! I really would have 2 lock myself in a studio 4 a year to get that sick!!!

  • is dat dw on bass

  • it looks like him, but i wouldn't know cause they only showed the drummers. lol

  • You know dexter has been playing there for a while, because he really has developed that 'gospelchops' style...Listen to all their drum solo videos, they all sound the same

  • AND THAT EXACTLY HOW i WANT TO PLAY

  • Crazy drum fills and triplets! OMG! xD

  • this is why i love drums. right here.

  • rafiki wins because he plays the bass and drums beastly..

  • i think dexter won

  • can dexter play the bass?

  • i dont think so but he still better than justin

  • maybe but justins a beast with both so hes just better overall

  • okay

  • great technique, but it seems like they´re all playing the same thing, the three of them have the same style, like most of the too technical drummers. but these guys are awesome anyway.

  • I agree!

  • All the Gospel trained drummers play that way. Listen to Thomas Pridgen........The same style!

  • well they are playing gospel music haha.
