  • Wow! A surviving A1 in Brunswick Green Livery is cool!

  • @scotsman125 Tornado isn't a "survivor", none of the original A1 Peppercorn locomotives made it into preservation. Tornado was built by the A1 Locomotive Trust to build a 50th member of the class and to bring back a class long since gone. Work on her started in the early 90's and she was completed by 2008, I believe.

  • @SodorProductionsII .... I have to Agree with you there ... but I guess to folks who know very little about the locomotive they could be fooled into thinking Tornado is an " Older Model " ... ha ha

  • @scotsman125 ... Tornado is The Only A1 Peppercorn locomotive in the World ... NOT a Survivor ... but Completely NEW and built from Scratch to fill a Gap in the Collection of A1 ... A2 .. A3 .. And A4 locomotives.

Their Next project will hopefully be a P2 ... All of those locomotives were also Scrapped and lost to History.

  • She looks great, but why did they repaint her? Frankly there are many BR Brunswick Green engines in preservation and much fewer in LNER Apple Green; personally I think she looks better in Apple Green. Anyway, can't complain, she's beautiful whatever colour. Thanks for Uploading this! =)

  • I couldn't disagree more I'm afraid. The A1s spent by far the majority of their lives in Brunswick Green and

I think they suit this colour more than Apple Green even if the LNER intended initially to paint them in this.

As you say however shes beautiful in any colour. I actually prefer the A1s to the A4s and the A3s for pure looks.

  • @MrGordieb .... Scotsman looks better in Apple Green .. as does Tornado ... but I think the A4`s look Great in Any colour because of their Wonderful shape.

  • @Rabbitbunvoo .... I believe it was part of an agreement that Tornado would wear 4 or 5 colours in the first few years of service on the mainline.

Tornado is an impressive locomotive .. no matter what colour is carried.
